I have two questions regarding the Okinawa system. It is about the Kamakura base (Hogosha) that is built inside the Hasuda Asteroid Field.
Question 1: The Kamakura Base infocard states that the GC and GMG were very close to discover its location during their searches. But they never actually discovered it, so does that mean that "real players" that are part of the GC and GMG faction don't recognize the location of this station?
Question 2: What is seen as "better roleplay" for a Hogosha character during a situation like this:
The Hogosha player(s) is/are chased by GC/BD/GMG forces. The Hogosha player(s) decides to flee the battle. If the Hogosha character has no chance of leaving the system to retreat what is the best option, in terms of roleplay:
A: To die and not reveal the location of the Kamakura base.
B: To dock at the Kamakura base, thus not dying but then in roleplay the players that chased you have found the location.

I'd assume death - Kusari unlawfuls seem to have gathered the preconception from the community that they are incredibly honour bound. Hogsha particularly see themselves as protectors of Kusari and would probably rather die than allow an enemy to find their base of operations and in all likelihood wipe out their brethren.
This is of course and outside opinion - I don't have any Hogsha characters.

Regardless if you don't have a Hogosha character your input still holds value. And I agree with you, I should as my character rather die than to let them find the station and destroy it.
I don't think being wiped out is a concern. The Hogosha are well connected, protected, and more powerful than many think. I think it's more an issue of having that operation kept a secret for political reasons.

Still, if the base is found, they'll come under attack causing constant deaths as skirmishes consistently break out outside their front door. In contrast, if the one lone retreating pilot dies, there is only one loss to the Hogosha cause. even then, he might only lose his ship and have his pod picked up by a passing patrol (as any non-power gaming opponent would allow). Besides, their influence won't count for much when their puppet corporation Samura and the KNF won't venture into the system
It's a bit like any other unlawfuls retreating to a JH. The news articles on pirate bases (on Xeno ones at any rate) say that pirates should be shot down rather than reveal the location of critical JHs to the authorities.
I disagree entirely that the kusari factions are honourable, or behave or talk as such,
but if you feel that the location of the base is something you want to protect in RP, then I guess you'd best die, or request in PM that they call of the pursuit?
its possible! honestly, we're not all crazy for death messages, not that I have a kusari character from which I can back this up personally.
I know that myself and other GMG members assert that the base moves around.
We dont presume to know its location. Even if we did follow a Hogosha all the wa back to its base - we would only have 'found' the base for the duration of the role-play event.
Still, a Hogosha would probably be in disgrace for giving away the location - after all, a criminal doesnt lead the cops back to the secret hideout now does he (the rest of the gang might be slightly annoyed at this).
Depends on the player really.. They could retreat to the base, but if they do, the people chasing him could, if they want to, RP that they found the base.. But I personally don't like doing this. They retreat to the base, I fly off, thats that. I didn't 'discover their base' unless is exceptional circumstances. But not everyone does it like this, so if you want to be safe about it, don't go to the base. Either run away till they lose sensor contact, or stay and die.
Another good idea is Friday's suggestion. This works very well for GC in regards to Okinawa.. Our base can move itself very easily, stations require large ships to 'tug' them to a new spot. But again; Not everyone will follow you're lead in RPing that..
