So i have recently started playing discovery online. I've expanded and made more characters, but i am now completely screwed. A couple days ago my computer got infested with malware so i had to completely reformat everything... with this i had to reinstall freelancer, and when i did i was issued a new ip so i lost connection to all of my characters. They are still there, i just have no way to get to them. If anybody has any ideas as how to help me in my predicament it would be sweet. I am fed up at this point:wacko:

If you had backed up your accounts with FLAM before reformatting, you could restore them that way. IP addresses have nothing to do with storing your characters. The only thing you can really do is start over:(Try contacting a bank to get a loan so you can get a transport or something. That way it will lead you on you way a bit

If needed, I may be able to spot you some cash
(Hello Nikkel, haven't seen you around recently)

My other suggestion would be to contact an admin and see if they can pull up your ID for your chars.

If he had to re-format his computer, I don't think this would have worked (considering re-formatting earases everything).

Backing up to an external device would have done the trick (heh, trick...). Admins don't bring accounts back from the dead anymore, risks corrupting the files I believe.

P.S. If you need some credits, I can see about helping you out.

You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark.
Roleplay is dead. Long live Powertraders and PvP I guess.

yet another one of those posts.
let me repeat myself another time, and maybe its time to make a 2 line tutorial out of it. you back up files in FAM by Exporting the accounts to a file you e-mail them to yourself or use a storage server and you have it for a life time
