Abuse for Zoner rep much? Sure, you could allow for a one-time rep fix, but you could /setrep Zoner and get all of Sirius neutral to you, and then all the cap-whores could go anywhere they want and kill any player they want without NPC's to interfere or restrict where they can go.

Not really on topic...but I noticed that "capwhore" gets slung about like "terrorist" in order to prove a point. Makes it seem like they would just take over if we let them. Now it might be true and it might be a good use of fearmongering, I just thought it was interesting to note....
anywho....since you certainly don't care about my personal ruminations....
I think this sort of command exactly represents what is 'too far' for repfixing tools. /droprep does more than we could hope for while not entirely mucking up the art of earning things. However, if we wanted to really explore this option I would suggest making it so you can only use the command once and while under level 10. That way pretty much all abuse could be avoided. Also, you could still alter your rep the normal way afterward. Though, I still disagree with using it at all.

BECAUSE Zoners are neutral with everyone ... it would be OORP for anyone /setrep'ing to Zoner IFF to go hunting in the way you say. Rules already exist to sanction this behavior.

Don't know what you're talking about, Monk. Did I somehow ignore your comments or give you the impression I don't care about your opinion? I DID tell Eppy that I didn't care about his ... are you Eppy?

Eww...for all that is good...I am NOT Eppy...that is a curse I do not want..:D
@Baltar: What's the deal man? I disagreed but gave constructive criticism...
EDIT: ahh i see...you think when i said 'you' I meant you personally...no no no...i mean you colloquially as in all of YOU people
My thought was that if it was both, it couldn't be used by current characters to vastly change their rep, which seems more abusable than a newly created character.
I would prefer that after gaining sufficient rep to buy an ID, that upon mounting it your rep was automatically adjusted to correspond to that dictated by your ID.

What about players whose RP differs from the version that the ID sets? The reps would be set to what the ID is set to, which leaves little to no room for special RP without a Special Ops ID >.>

Well ... once the player reaches level 40 (when he is supposed to exchange his Civilian ID for something else) would be the appropriate time to use the command. So ... if the player fails to use the /setrep command before he reaches level 40 ... he looses his opportunity to use it until he drops back below 40. If he builds himself up to a battleship and such ... well ... to use the command he'd have to cash in his battleship for a starflea or something and transfer all his cash to another character. In other words ... it would be in his best interest to use the command before getting too far along.

An alternative I've mentioned myself. But as HellFire0 mentions below ... no room for the Special RP'ers.

Another option for those with Special RP ... Special RP ID?

What if we kept things as they are with normal, non-guard ID's, but applied the "auto rep-fix" with guard and player faction ID's? So, you are still in full control of your rep with a simple Corsair ID, but soon as you get a Corsair Guard ID, your rep is locked into the proper Corsair alliances. I figure a player who puts in the time to get a guard/player faction ID would probably consider himself as wholly RP'ing that faction only, and would not be looking for any special RP.
