which is about as useful as a diffrent colored light, seeing as how it costs more energy to fire at less range. also, it is the exact same hit ratio. those stats do not justify practically double pricing them.

green beam on brownish turret always had its price....green is always more expensive...:lol:

basic cruiser turret :
2200/1100 damage
7000 energy

zoner cruiser turret :
2200/1100 damage
6500 energy

they re not really identical - one might argue that 1/14th less energy usage might not justify the steeper price - but on an average cruiser ( 12 guns ) it can be a noticable difference. 12x 500 = 6000 energy / salvo less. apart from that - the projectile size if identical of course - almost no capital ship projectile has a hit-sphere as large as the actual colourful bolt - or kusari weapons would really be a lot worse, cause they re only lines - while things like the rheinland / zoner turrets would be like 10 times larger.
