But attackers can plan their siege in advance - "Hey guys, make time for Xth Sunday at 08:00, we are going to siege.", whereas defenders just react and have to scramble in relative haste.

the part of the real life was an pratical example. also to take down a pob is necessary a lot of firepower at the same time, and even so it takes time, probably that "blues" are the time that attackers only had to make the siege, because not only people have real life, but also don't want to spend all their free time shooting at an object. and if the attackers by default have low firepower, how can they make a proper defense. also pobs have shields, alot of cargo spaceto have all necessary materieals to holdthat shields and reparing, and also, the owners can betwwen attacks suply even more stuff. and also you are forgetting one thing ... not every one can be online at the same time. i once has in a siege, and the attackers were very low powered but a lot of perseverance the siege was a sucess.

sincerelly if this goes forward it will not surprise me, because i already saw so many stupid stuff being made in the name of "balance" that nothing more surprises me. i just don't understand is how an rp server like this one brags to be, allows so litle rp for one attack, one message of one pilot saying in their faction forum orc omms chanell saying that found a base, and after it one declartion of attack and all is fine.

ohh and forgot .. bases can have guns also so they can shoot attackers.

+1 order PoB on top of jumphole, and this one wasn't even on purpose. Most PoBs are killed hard and fast because there are actually people who intend to do this, and we've learnt the hard way. When abusing economy oversights, locking hostile factions out of systems, and being toxic when people get sick of it and break your stuff is the norm, of course PoBs are going to get a bad rep. Make an actual solution, don't just be more of the problem.

And really, if "Sit my pob on top of a hostile factions base in order to make sure they can't log on" is the activity you want to defend, then forgive the mighty laughter I'm about to do.

Simply, Fix the POB repair rate, damage rate, and total health points issue then things will be normal
There is no need for extra complications with the POBs

Yes, locking factions out of systems with weapons platforms will cease to be an issue. We'll still have factions locked out of systems because they can just camp capspam on top of a jumphole or base. All of this still doesn't address PoBs being used for abusing every little economy oversight that inevitably happens due to there being 309+ commodities in the game, and the extensive breaking of faction boundaries we get in the Omicrons just to farm nomad remains for PoBs.

Fixing weaps doesn't fix PoBs. Good on you for actually trying, though, that's quite literally infinity times what everyone else is doing.

Yes to this.

It's a fact you all know if you sieged before: It sucks. and building and keeping it healthy is a LOT of work (RL wasted hours).
So far I readed some good ideas that with some effort can be implemented, a mixture of those ideas maybe lead us to a positive result.
A kind of event could be implemented for every Siege. It could be more challenging if attackers have something to lose too.


On first instance, PoBs should be harder to get; not every player should be allowed to build one, requirements will be needed (like, only trhought proper RP official factions members (only) can REQUEST a PoB construction). If you joined here because of the PoB's you did totally wrong. PoB sucks go play sims
