I use one called z-screen, it's available at sourceforge i think. It can take custom shots, whole screen or active window only, you can set custom commands for each. It can compress the shots into about 8 different formats and automatically upload them to an ftp server or to image shack.

Every screenshot program that saves screens as JPEG's, usually sucks when it comes to quality. You get the best results by making a screenshot in BPM, then convert it to jpeg via professional software.

Rendering tutorial is up and running again:

Freelancer? only disadvantage is the lagg it casuses, but I don't know what would happen if another program with the same quality was used (Yes the screenshot function in Freelancer just hit Prt Scrn in game and it saves each pixel on your screen to a .BMP file, so getting better screenshots is not possible)

I use xfire, it works well for me. Though I'm not sure about it saving the image in JPEGs...

I think Xfire ss are really bad (it's maybe half the resolution of what I'm running FL on)

IrfanView, hands down.

You can select the format it saves the images in (even TIF is available) and you can use it for more than just taking screens.
