Cryer Pharmaceuticals to date has arisen over a long and diverse history to become the dominant mega-corporation in the fields of drug manufacturing, medical research, human body augmentation, medical machinery and technology, and gene manipulation. The company was founded by one of Sirius’ most fascinating, and some may say, dubious characters, Maximilian Cryer in 314 AS. Cryer initially made his mark on history creating Synthetic Marijuana in 312 AS, based on the Old Earth recreational and medicinal drug that never made it to Sirius from Sol during the Exodus. Though the drug that likely funded the company's origin has since been deemed contraband by most governing bodies, it is still extensively prevalent on the black market and legally traded to some highly-regulated locations. Cryer Pharmaceuticals has worked in concert with other large companies like Samura and Planetform, both companies also heavily focused on the unique properties of Alien Organisms and their potential commercial usages.
In recent years, the company has announced the development of the breakthrough alternative to Cardamine, (and possible age-defying drug) trademarked as Stabiline. The project is rumored to be heavily backed by Liberty elites implied by the large investments from the wealthy locals of Planet Denver, from which the company previously had its headquarters and retains significant financial connections. Currently, Cryer holds its administrative headquarters aboard the privately owned Syracuse Station, located near Planet Manhattan, though is known to operate in far flung locations. Beside the production of medicines and related products, the company also has the honor of hosting the most prestigious scientific educational institution in Sirius, that being Cambridge Research Institute, where it also produces basic medical commodities for shipment sector-wide and engages in large-scale and well-funded research in partnership with Planetform, Inc. to tackle local diseases appearing on Planet Carlisle in the newly colonized Newcastle system.
The bulk of the research and breakthroughs involving alien organisms has been conducted on Cryer’s Atka Research Station in the Sigma 17 system, due to the nearby presence of the microorganism on both Planet Kurile and adjacent nebulae of the Edge Worlds.
Cryer is believed by some to be extensively connected with various underworld organizations in off-the-record operations and acquisitions likely aimed at gaining access to materials seen as questionable in nature, legality.. and ethical morality. It has been noted that Corsairs, the Core and others turn a blind eye to the comings and goings of Cryer freight and “research” vessels, implying some deals or kickbacks have been put in place to ensure nothing stands in the way of the corporation's plans and profits.

Corporate Structure
The company is subdivided into the following divisions:
Sales & Marketing Division:
A key element of the business, overseeing the rollout of new products, expansion of existing contracts and deals, market research test groups, acquisition of new clients, branding management and control, as well as the fussy bits of bureaucratic permitting and whatnots needed to get through the red tape and to the customer!
Logistical Division:
The large swathe of the company comprised of freight teams, mining vessels for extraction of alien organisms, repair crews and maintenance as well as miscellaneous support vessels. This integral aspect of Cryer are the movers and doers, the ones connecting the dots to "make it happen".
Research Division:
Numerous independently operated science teams working at Cryer facilities, affiliate stations, or dedicated research vessels, this division is allotted huge funding and freedom to achieve the necessary breakthroughs to maintain Cryer market dominance. No methods are discouraged, though some are kept highly confidential. The Research Division also maintains a small Exploration fleet for furthering their endeavors.
Security Division:
There's no doubt Cryer has amassed some fairly powerful enemies, the Golden Chrysanthemums, Liberty Rogues, Lane Hackers, the entire Maltese nation and more, not to mention the small fry pirates who seek to score a profit off the unsuspecting freight pilot. Due to this, the company maintains a paramilitary-level security fleet that undertakes rigorous training exercises, is sent on daring missions to acquire material, are used extensivly in convoy escorting, station patrols, and the occasional ultra secret raid here and there.
Cryer combat pilots enjoy some of the best and widest ranging array of ships and weaponry stemming from the substantial flow of credits pouring into the assured protection of corporate assets.
