Backstory:
All eyes are on Zurich and Cologne as the unprecedented economic partnership between the Controversial Gallic Union and The Federal Empire of Rheinland skyrocketed trade ahead of the inevitable Treaty of Oerlikon signing. The bumbling Emperor's visit to Gallia allowed The Grand Marshal's diplomats to successfully press for many concessions, from excellent rates on imported minerals, and removal of tariffs on Gallic Agricultural surplus, despite Rheinland being the only house they could possibly hope to enter a free-trade partnership with.
This is a slap in the face not only to Kusari, Crayter and Bretonia whose blockade has been rendered completely ineffective as their produce will find its way to Gallia through Rheinland anyway, but especially to the revolutionary groups from the respective houses. At one point, theRed Hessians controlled Cologne completely, threatening expansion to Zurich itself. But after unified Rheinland put the hammer down in 828 A.S. they have been on the back foot, recently losing their flagship Kassel in the devastating mutual destruction with the Rheinwehr in Dresden. The biggest trade highway in the history of Sirius is their chance to retaliate, to stop the flow of supplies to the Federal Empire's exploitive regime.
An opening comes this Wednesday at 20:00 UTC in Cologne when the Gendarmerie and Rheinland Police turn to negotiate the practicalities of mutual aid and securing the highway. After the devastating attacks on the convoy of the Rheinland Emperor, they are not taking any chances, expecting to show up in force, backed by their house's respective Navies and Militaries. Even with that, they will not expect what's coming as the Hessians lead the charge against the fresh partnership while calling on all allies they can get to make a strong statement - anyone who ceremoniously and openly supports the Federal Empire will face the consequences.
Conclusion: The meeting was a big success, terms were agreed. But both sides were ambushed when returning towards Gallia by a massive force of Hessians, Bundshuh and even Royalists, proving that the A Passage will drain resources of the Forces of both houses.
