Personal log of Captain Beth Texas of the independent explorer Voidstag III.
Purchased the Bustard with a lot of its internals stripped down to make room for the science equipment. First goal is that schmancy psy blocker thing Serah was trying to make. Ideally it'd be retractable, and rest under the armor plate. Can't ask for friendly help testing, but the main reason for it is to prevent a repeat of the Kepler fiasco that happened with the Voidstag II.
Second goal is to install a few stasis tubes capable of keeping any misplaced incubi alive until we can return them to the mindshare. This is probably the easiest part. We aren't really equipped to do surgery on aliens, so this is our best option.
Third is what we've taken to calling the Telepathic lens chamber. Its designed to amplify telepathic communication over a long distance. Any Carrier onboard should be able to keep in touch with the mindshare when we're far away from everywhere else. Not that we have any Carrier crew. Yet. It might also help us communicate with Voidforms easier.
Frankly it'll be years before the start of any joint expedition or project. Better to work the bugs out now.

“Lens Chamber” project log. Head Science Officer Serah Traline of the Voidstag III
Lens chamber construction is complete. Completely untested, haven’t had time, been too busy with other construction of the interior. It’s based off several bits of research from Daam K’vash artifacts and constructs. The basic idea is it’s a sort of amplifier or conductor for the signals emitted by telepathy. Logically there’s some form of attenuation to them since you can’t violate thermodynamics. We’ve found several reports on various artifact formations that- might work?
I have no idea, nobody here has graduated college but what’s the worst that could happen?

Success! We were able to send- vague psychic murmurings to a Carrier. After some misunderstandings, we realize that we need A: someone smarter, B: more examples C: to acknowledge that it was probably not our lack of qualification that led us here, but pure luck. Still, it feels like this is trying to make a chainsaw, and only being able to cut down trees with it by whacking the blade against said tree.
Our best hope is outside help. But the only people that could help are Auxo and from what I can tell they’re not the type to share. Perhaps the Harvest Moon could help? Or some Carrier scientists?
Regardless, test successful! I’m going to go scream into a pillow to celebrate.

Well. That just happened. The entire crew met Melia. Way sooner than I wanted to but here we are. Everyone's- well- a lot of people are conflicted but I don't think anyone's going to go spill secrets. Most people seemed to at least like her, I put that down to her being so warm and kind. Amazing that it wasn't really too long ago that I was working to exterminate the Nomads, and now- well- I'd never admit it to her but Melia reminds me of mom.
Still, any questions Serah might have wanted to ask got lost in her awe. It was all going- a little tense and then an unexpected gift came in.
A Coalition Carrier, the Volgograd. After quite a bit of hiding while the Twin Lights and Melia fought it, our big battleship sized friend managed to escape, only for the Volgograd to return. So, Melia activated her jumpdrive, got in real close to the carrier, and I guess you could say "suplexed" it all the way to the far Omicrons. Serves the ornery bastard right, shouting in system comms about how he hated aliens and was going to hunt her like an animal.
Still, was nice to see her again, and good that everyone got along.
Dispatched a cam-drone to take a picture of the event.

I gotta get better at keeping these logs. The last few days have been slow, getting hangars online, staking out wrecks in the Taus and Roussillon, and of course, spending time with Kimi. Finally got the meetings done with Halpert and Aislinn, Halpert said he'd be willing to float the proposal to his group, not expecting much but it was nice to make contact with someone of an open mind. The good doctor (note to self do NOT call her miss) was very cooperative. I now realize after typing that it makes me sound like some kind of sinister criminal. Anyways, she's a peach and agreed to help on the Lens chamber. We discussed further cooperation.
Kepler seems to be the hot-spot these days. Revenant and Kimi have been hanging out there, and near Ames is a good spot for meditation. Currently in Kepler, over a hundred fifty clicks up from the Prophet. Outside the cloud. Wasn't hard as I thought it'd be- the radiation lessens the further away you get.
Still feel like something bad's about to happen. I can only hope we're ready when it does. Normally I'd say the view from up here is beautiful, but that's a damn lie.
