Barge is Utterly ***** because it doesn't drop any stuff from it + it is slow + barge players usually flower. Like I had to kill a barge 3 times in a row to finally get some money from piracy, otherwise I waste my time and resources on empty junk.

Have you ever thought about role playing instead of "gib money" 1/2?

No, I can assure you that this never crosses a pirate's mind.

That's unfortunate. I propose we keep this type of conversation to discord where you have successfully weeded out the children and then bring a packaged idea to the devs/admins for their opinion. Public forum no longer works in Discovery.

As a person who owns the 14th Barge ever sold I can assure everyone that it has absolutely no advantage at all,I have logged over 100 hours on it and am quite familiar with piloting it,one time I got stuck in some rocks due to a trade lane interruption and was pirated 4 times before I got underway again .I haven't played with it much lately as I can do much better with 5k's,still it is nice to own one because you really have to earn it.

Since this thread is not locked and still receiving replies, then I'll add a clarification reply.

The intention of this thread is not to say that the barges are bad for 5kers' existence as @Haste mentioned
This is not posted to end up by the developers removing the barge
I posted that clearly and said that removing or nerfing the barge cargo capacity is not going to be a good decision at all

Put into consideration that the barge has many negative sides and it is not easy to be managed by its owners

- It is extremely slow
- It is bugged because it gets spun by a light fighter (A nightmare bug)
- Recovering the position of the barge takes a long time (tho enhanced lately by the thruster effect)
- It's an easy target for piracy (and not all pirates are RP-ing, but actually most of them start their talks with an ending phrase (pay me xxxx amount of money or die)

I was just talking about the current situation we have here
We have a low population as @St.Denis said, and we have fewer mining operations as others said
Enhance those, as @BobMacaroni said and I second what he said too, but I am NOT talking here about nerfing the barge capacity or removing it at all as @Couden said for example!

Don't use this discussion to terminate the barge - The nerfing after granting is very very bad for the server population

You know you messed up when you rattle Xenon. Never heard or seen you type like this.

As with server population dropping, so is the dev team. I don't even know who is working econ as there is no roster of admin/moderator/developers around. At this point, unless you are buddies with dev team members, or are a dev team member (even that doesn't work sometimes), real change can't happen. Until we see a culture change in this community, starting from the player base up, than this conversation is nothing more than fun. Despite your well thought out and presented ideas and platform you provided the players.

Sad to see you like this Xenon, but as you always tell me when I get worked up about things, don't worry about it. Hakuna Matata

Ah, well. Time to turn off the forums for another month in hopes that people have grown up and removed craniums from sphincters.
