Tense Ministerial Assembly Unfolds & Absence of the Defence Minister
New Tokyo, 01.08.830

On the 1st of August, Prime Minister Taichi Suzuki called for a highly anticipated "Ministry assembly" to set the course for the new cabinet's initial steps. The meeting, attended by key government officials, was expected to delve into crucial matters of national importance.

According to insiders, the assembly commenced on a smooth note, with initial discussions focusing on stimulating domestic tourism and continuing the healthcare reform initiated by the previous cabinet. However, the gathering swiftly took an unexpected turn when a vocal dispute erupted between three prominent ministers.

Minister of Economy Majima, Finance Minister Nakatsuki, and Internal Affairs Minister Yoshida found themselves at odds over the sensitive issue of a renewed strive for a State Police reform. Finance Minister Nakatsuki cited budget constraints as a significant concern, expressing reservations about the financial implications of any potential overhaul and its potential impact on the rebuilding of the Naval Forces. On the other hand, Internal Affairs Minister Yoshida vehemently argued against any relaxation of the legal framework for Police operations, emphasizing the importance of upholding civil liberties and not permitting insecurity and recklessness to be actively promoted.

Minister Majima, known for his assertive leadership style, passionately advocated the reform, highlighting the detrimental impact of illicit activities on the nation's esteemed Keiretsu and the overall economy. The clash of opinions between the three ministers further intensified, leading to a heated exchange that drew the Prime Minister's intervention. Prime Minister Taichi Suzuki called for order, but the Finance Minister, visibly upset, decided to leave the assembly prematurely.

Adding to the drama, Defence Minister Kogen was notably absent from this crucial meeting. Subsequent investigations revealed that Minister Kogen was still residing on board of the Nagasaki and was allegedly engaged in clandestine discussions with the Naval Forces Admiralty. The circumstances of his unexcused absence have raised concerns and prompted questions regarding the Minister's intentions and priorities.

As the assembly adjourned, the nation remains on edge, awaiting further updates and clarifications from the government. The unresolved disputes and Minister Kogen's unexplained actions have cast a shadow over the first assembly of the new cabinet, with speakers of the Social Democratic Party describing the whole situation as "a clear sign of inability to settle on compromises by these thugs pretending to be politicians", a direct insult at the Ninkyo Dantai officials.

With critical policy decisions and national initiatives hanging in the balance, the government's ability to navigate these challenges will undoubtedly shape the country's trajectory in the days to come. As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain fixed on the Prime Minister's office for forthcoming developments.
