I wouldn't do anything with POBs or economy until the patch drops. The patch plans to have reworks of POB systems and it's up in the air on what's going to happen to economy and ores. The ore field you place your POB near may not be there next patch. Let the patch drop and give it about a week for any bugs to be worked out before going through with any plans.

Since the mod is now essentially hostile to POB's both in the increase of decay rate on unattended bases (with which I agree) and the repair materials rate on all bases, even when attended (don't agree) plus the fact that the pirates and other unlawfuls have easy access to capitol ships while only lawful navy has such access, leading to the absurdity of having to defend your bases and your ships while hilariously out-gunned from in an environment where they are allowed to run havoc over other players who have no effective method to respond.
If there's something the staff and the patch needs to fix, THIS IS IT. Piracy in caps is a cancer within this mod.

People have been leaving in little waves bit by bit. Unfortunately another wave left recently because of changes made to POBs and toxic actions taken against them. Enough waves of people have left to make somebody like you unfortunately out of people to play with. Here's hoping this new patch is great and the return of some admins can turn things around. I have run POBs and conducted RP through POBs in the past, but currently I don't own any publically known POBs at this time. You can feel free to contact Xenon either through the forum or on Discord. He runs a Discord that is very popular for those interested in legitimate economy or trading play. He's been with the community for many years and, except by the toxic players of this community, is regarded as one of the backbones of this community. It would be wise to seek him out if you are interested in good roleplay.
