From: Chief C. O'Reilly To: The Gaian Movement Subject: Making it Official
Good day.
A few weeks ago, I proposed a pact on behalf of the Assembly. The idea is very simple -- battling the Armed Forces, Bounty Hunters and other servants of the Crown takes priority over battling each other. It came about after a Molly and Gaian patrols worked together to destroy a Bounty Hunter gunship in Cambridge. And, since the Gaian pilot in question was not opposed to it, I'm now following it up by putting forward a question to a wider audience. In particular, the crew of Archcaptain Rose, as we have something of a history of cooperation, but also any others that may come forward.
Is there willingness among the Gaians to make an accord of non-aggression with the Mollys of the RPA?
If so, we can discuss finer details. We can define areas where the accord will apply, and formally establish zones of interest, which will require permission from the owners to enter. Trade is also on the table.
And if not, then a verbal understanding between individuals will have to do.

Dear Mr. O'Reilly
Your proposal for a non-aggression pact between RPA| and the Gaians) combined with joint warfare with the Bretonia Armed Forces, Bounty Hunters and other servants of the Crown is very welcome.
However, we realize that this may be a bit problematic for you, as recently your allies from the Independent Miners Guild and the Red Hessians seem to have declared themselves our enemies and stopped allowing us on their stations. However, we consider the enemy of our enemy to be our potential friend, and we can certainly come to an agreement on how we would work together so that all parties are satisfied.
For our part, we would like to ask what pro-environmental efforts are being made by the Republican Provisional Assembly in the Dublin system to avoid a similar environmental catastrophe as occurred in Leeds - I mean, those two huge smog clouds that were created by centuries of uncontrolled industrialization.
We would also like to discuss each other's base docking privileges (including our outdated Connacht Depot docking codes).

Archcaptain Rose.
I don't speak on behalf of the Red Hessians, the IMG, or anyone but our Assembly. I would not be able to negotiate docking access to anywhere except Connacht. Which can be arranged for members of your crew.
As to your question about pro-environmental efforts in Dublin, you're well aware that Leeds was the work of billions of people over many centuries. Dublin doesn't have any planets, and the few planetoids large enough to support construction are completely barren, with no native ecosystem that the gold extraction would threaten. Frankly, we're more worried about the ruined jump gate possibly imploding than our industrial footprint, but that's a question for Ageira.
But don't get me wrong. We're well accustomed to life in scarcity. We try to find a practical use for any waste products and scrap instead of simply dumping them into space. I couldn't tell you about the specific techniques we use, because I am not a refinery operator, but I hope that answers your question.
If you want to proceed with the accord, I believe it'll be enough to define special interest areas of our factions which will require express permission to enter. Everywhere else would fall under the principle of non-aggression and mutual assistance against the Crown. We can also include a provision about Connacht Depot access to maintain our trade. Let me know what you think.

Honorable Chief C. O'Reilly
I understand how hard life is for members of the Republican Provisional Assembly, and I am glad that you have the opportunity to reuse resources, which allows you not to litter the space of the Dublin system. We wish you to continue your struggle for freedom and to ensure sustainable and responsible use of the resources you have.
As much as possible we are interested in further cooperation between Gaians) and RPA|. A non-aggression pact and a joint fight against all minions of the Crown is a satisfactory solution for us. It would be nice if we could regain docking rights to Connacht Depot.
However, given how different our alliances and sympathies are for historical reasons, we propose the following:
1) The Gaians) will not interfere in RPA|'s battles with the Corsairs within Bretonia and the border systems and Dublin, in return the RPA|, should they witness the Gaians) melee with Red Hessia and the IMG will not interfere in them within Bretonia and the border systems and Dublin.
2) If during a meeting between members of the Gaias) and RPA| in the space of Bretonia and the border systems and Dublin, ships of the aforementioned factions would reach us, we will not antagonize the allies and sympathies of the other side, so as not to force each other to choose: whether to side with the allies/sympathizers or abide by the non-aggression pact.

Archcaptain Rose.
My initial offer extended only to our respective movements, to fight common enemies in the field and leave each other alone where possible. While I'm not sure what your relationship with the Corsairs is currently, expecting you to restrain them from attacking us or us from attacking them is not going to convince even our Assembly's most idealistic members.
And if we were to find Hessian ships under attack by your forces, we would certainly try to stop you. We're not going to sacrifice them for you.
Either we come to an understanding wherein we aid each other when it's mutually beneficial and accept that we may have to deal with conflicts of interest as they come up, or we carry on as before, leaving it up in the air and letting individual pilots decide. Anything more complicated would fail very quickly.

Honorable Chief C. O'Reilly
I apologize for the delay in communication, but we've had some problems with a bunch of Corsairs who thought they could take Torshavn Space Port from us and the recent increase in threats in Taus, from the Gallic Navy, among others.
In general, after some thought, we decided that as much as possible we could agree to a normal non-aggression pact between members of the Gaians) movement and the Republican Provisional Assembly, along with cooperation involving mutual assistance in fighting any minions of the Crown of Bretonia.
From: Chief C. O'Reilly To: Archcaptain Rose Subject: NAP
Hello, Archcaptain Rose.
I'm happy to hear of your success against the Corsairs, though I'm not surprised to hear that they turned on you. I've fought them long enough to know the underlying superiority they feel towards House-dwelling outsiders.
Your terms are acceptable to the Assembly. From now on, we'll refrain from interfering with each other's operations, and focus on our common enemy: the Bretonian government and corporations. Let's hope it lasts.
