Glad you like it here, Attu. Though don't let the opportunity to find someone you like slip away. Ask her out, will you? The ramen here can definitely help you out. Well - if she likes that kind of food anyway.
While that happens I'll contact someone to get your Banshee. You've met her already, actually: Nenet Mido, pilot of the 'Masquerade'.
"Test the sharpness of your sword against another. And when that is not enough, unsheathe your cunning as the hidden dagger that ends the fight."
Well, you get her back to me, maybe I'll ask you out.
"Masquerade"? Yeah. I remember. Your good friend was sending puny threats her way. What was his name? Silverstone? I know I overreacted but, ... yeah, I was tired. Also, don't think we're skipping that conversation, oh hell no.
Anyway, she won't fit in her Grouse. What's her plan?
PS: No need to hold my hand here, you can just give me her contact information, I can take care of it.
That's his name, yeah. John is the kind of guy you don't want to depend on or trust with anything sensitive. That whole show was to see if he means that apology with a little bit of commitment to it. The 'bleeding a few credits' kind.
Don't worry about Nenet, by the way. She tends to get pretty crafty, or else she wouldn't have survived this long in the fight for Erie's freedom.
And no, I'm not holding your hand. But I'm not letting you drown either. You will pay for Nenet's services out of your own wallet. I am merely the intermediary.

When you look at Banshee, first thing you notice that it's basically an oversized reactor on wings, and that observation is correct. Unlike your Valk, there are no additional chambers for combustion, there is no reduction. Whatever happens in the chamber goes directly trough the nozzle. We had no time and resources to think our design trough, so we just slapped the fuel cell at the end of the chamber. In that setup throttle equals power, and whatever happens to the reactor happens to the main bus. With the chamber four years behind the service it naturally started to fluctuate, which in turn, fried the fuel cell, and everything that was connected to it.
Normally, when it comes to the VP setup, there are no reactor controls. Nada. Every part, every wire and every driver is fine tuned to give the exact output at given exact spec. So, no user input, you trust the state to manage your reactor for you. It doesn't get any more Rheinlandish than this. Also, this is why when you want to optimise for power-efficiency you have to stop at a hangar, so the mechanic can tune everything up.
That's why the whole thing goes haywire if you mount anything non "Hergestellt in Rhineland" on it.
On the side note this is why, Is suspect, the OMG's are so unstable. They lack those precision - tuned drivers and elements. Whoever got their hands on the VP did a good job copying it, but was fucking clueless as to why and what. I can't blame him.
There is no sense in replicating this rudimentary, faulty setup.
First, I'm not feeling like phoning Daumann for parts at any date. I'm replacing the VP Chaimber with the OMG one. Little bird told me that there are magicians on Gran Canaria that know how to assemble and maintain them.
Second, no more fuel cells slapped together. This time it has to be done proper. What I'm considering is... another throttle. Reactor of the same size, but for the industrial sector, that is with the ability to monitor and control it's parameters, and a proper inverter with integrated circuits. With the power under control I should be able to connect and operate higher ranges of equipment, fuck, maybe even the unstable mess Damien and his crew call weaponry. Drawback is, well, I have to operate both the ship and the reactor, watching the boiler like in some fucking choo-choo train, but that can get automated over time. Shouldn't be an issue, not for me.
There is an issue though. If I will operate the Generator above the throttle, there will be a considerable heat build-up, to put it mildly. Answer is simple. Heat vents.
But those things need space. Fortunately, there is a whole, huge side panel on that thing that does nothing but display the engraved flag of the Federal Republic.
For an extra fee you can arrange those pipes to display something meaningful, and I think I know what it's gonna be...
Setup will need some serious cash. Until She's done, I'm stripping her off her equipment and switching to another heavy platform, so I'm no longer stuck at Barrier.
Alright. It's not that bad -- mm, no. It'll be rather tedious. I have a solution for your first problem. If there's any hope of getting this bird to fly we might as well start with the reactor and the fuel cell. Now I have a lot less experience with a Banshee than I have with a Valkyrie. Had it been the latter I probably would've handled most steps by myself in a somewhat reasonable timeframe. I'm not in the mood for browsing the DarkNet for a user manual on how to repair a Military-grade Heavy Fighter like yours so we'll do it the other way around.
Shortly before offering you the opportunity to make something out yourself I paid a visit to a few old contacts. For a modest amount of credits they provided a few crates of spare parts for my Valkyrie. Scavenged stuff and nothing more, but good to make use of in a pinch. You can find them in The Wayfarer's hangar. That's my home and place of respite for my Valkyrie.
You should be able to find something compatible with your ship. On top of that I can sell you a reactor that fits. It's a slightly downsized version of what they used on Valkyries, mind you. It served me well while I had it and still works just fine at about 71,95% integrity. This one was refurbished by ALG as a custom job. For any other ship I could've just slapped something else on. But yours isn't 'just any other ship'. Sometimes you just can't replace original parts. This will run you a few credits, plus the servicing fees where applicable.
You can probably fetch an OMG-series array on your own from the Omegas. They're easy to come by for the most part. Just take a look before buying. Some tend to be sold with pre-installed external rust or heavily corroded exhausts.
Let's start small for now. Custom mods can be added later down the line once every single defect has been compensated for. Or at least noted down somewhere. You don't want to play the guessing game of what broke on your ship only after you installed all the fancy upgrades you thought of.
One last thing. I hope you considered paying Nenet her fee. I need 200.000 Credits from you within three days. Unless you decided to skip a few steps and paid her yourself that massive fee of 350.000 Credits.

You can skip browsing. You need a manual? I'll write you one. I lived onboard that ship for four years...
Considering what I've said about VP plants, scavenged parts will make her fly, yes, but it will be a time bomb. If I'm lucky, she will fry again in the hangar bay, and not in space. On the plus side, she will walk on her own legs, if needed... I'm curious about that reactor. How was it customised?
I am going for that massive mod so I don't have to play a guessing game which Daumann driver went out of sync this time. That's the plan here, rip it all off and install something I can trust, and control.
Omegas, noted. By the way, people fixate over rust. Sand the thing or get the rusted element replaced. No big deal...
The reactor is mostly standard issue. The 'custom job' part was exactly what it was supposed to mean. Normally ALG doesn't do this kind of stuff for civilians, you know. Fetch Military hardware for some shady guy? Sounds like lawsuit material. Over the years I tweaked it to offer more power at the cost of lower reserves. Sure, back then the Wayfarer was also a lot more mobile and I didn't suffer too much. It's not rocket science to do this, and you can probably revert to its initial values.
And don't be so shy of scavenged spare parts. What do you think you were using back with the Xenos? Just do regular maintenance checks and you won't get any surprises.
As for the Wayfarer? That's my home. A 'Dunlin'-class Frigate with decent space and two large fuel tanks for my ship. It used to be a cargo hauler for a Station I used to entirely own in Hudson, then got repurposed as a Research Vessel. It still is one, but after a few years of neglect the engine arrays have finally started to give up. It is now moored with Barrier Gate as my personal little space whose hangar is used to privately modify and maintain my Valkyrie. During those worse days I can let my droids take care of it while I have a glass whatever alcohol is left in my stash - although said stash started to run dry. Now I'm 'pirating' Tracey for her whiskey.

I have a job lined up for you. This one stays off the Net - details will be handed out in person. Covert work, and what will essentially be your first solo. Nobody will have your back out there.
Are you up for it?

You know what I'm gonna say, no one having my back sounds like fucking Monday. I got my hands on a fully functioning ship. That checks the "able" in the "willing and able". Now, am I willing? Depends. We've covered the negative in this gig in full detail. What about the positive, huh?
Many familiar faces passing by. Munich republic isn't as dead as I remembered it.
Abut the arrangement: Let's make it brief. Folks can be trusted, but still, I'm not feeling like getting compromised by anyone, dig?
