As BC Turrets.

Pros:
  • Battlecruisers get a nice very long-range artillery piece.
  • It brings back silo weapons in a slot that's easy to balance.
  • Silos were cool as hell.

Cons:
  • Hegemons using Nightmares might instantly explode themselves if they fire in an asteroid field (but incredibly funny. Once.)
  • It's a trade-off against using any other gun, once its ammo runs dry, it's out.

"Silo" Weapons or as I prefer to call them, VLS weapons (named after their RL counterparts) were lovely to see in the field. Heaven knows their absence has left me feeling naked when flying caps.
