Not at all. I expect you are familiar with the general situation so I will not waste time recollecting the events and political decisions that got us here.
He said pronouncing "political decisions" just a bit too pointedly for the businesslike tone he had reflexively assumed.
Obviously this situation can not be allowed to continue. Apparently that conclusion has eventually been reached by the ministry of defense as well, which has instructed us to prepare for retaking the system in the near future. They provided additional funds on a scale which makes it seem unlikely to be mere political guesturing.
He paused briefly, looking for the right words.
We are going to attack the system by surprise, wrong footing the insurgents and evading having to fight in the dense asteroid fields. I know you will have questions regarding that part, for now assume it is indeed possible. This is the extend of the plan set in stone yet. Anything unclear until here?
"I'm not going to assume anything unless it's an order", Sebastian scoffed haughtily. "The people who say one must risk in war have been too lucky. I was born into nobility -- lower nobility -- and that's where my luck ended. The rest is the diligent work of these crude hands." One would never guess that his robust fingers enjoyed a manicure every month. "A Molly is just a social-democrat when sober and dressed in a suit, and I count there are many on New London. Possibly all social-democrats. Probably. I hope we aren't really counting on the surprise factor. I'm not stupid enough to think I can outwit a Molly. Our clear advantages are discipline, courage and loads of hard and honest toil, and that's what I'd use, if you allow."
