Background:

In the efforts to end the war between the Outcast and Corsairs, which would bring about one of the first of three needed requirements to signal the Enlightenment. The Society understood that it is a necessity to keep the alliance between the Hessians and the Outcast secure.

In response, Rear Admiral Obsidian was sent as a diplomat to mend broken lines, previously severed. While there, he strictly kept of the SoGP agenda, and wanted to conclude why the two should remain allied.

"It is in these troubling times we fear that the CR alliance with the Corsairs will threaten the destruction of the Hessians entirely. Unless we can come about our differences, and use the sole thing that joins us together [our hatred of the Corsairs] we will fail." Obsidian speaking at Vogtland.

Then he took it upon himself to use the Hessian technology, despite the Society's view of the Outcast as superior beings. He then continued back to Alpha in the Hessian Thor.
