I have managed to gather information that points to it all start when a group of extraplanetary pilots were on leave at the local tavern "The Mad Miner" when they began to talk loudly about the current situation in which the planet has found itself immersed.
Apparently his opinions were not well received by one of the locals and they reacted by hitting him, which caused a fight to break out in the establishment that soon turned into a rumor that some Phoenix sympathizers were insulting, belittling and hitting the inhabitants for not accepting the appointment of the new administrator, something completely absurd, but seeing the level of stress to which the population is being subjected...
A large crowd gathered and, with excessive force, they get them out from the tavern, they were close to hanging them when the sheriff and his men appeared and managed to prevent further harm.

It seems that food shipments are suffering, at least in quality. Before the change of government, Synth Paste packages used to come from the hydroponic bays the MFE has in the General Academy. I don't know why they're no longer being received by the colonists, but I'll try to find out.
