Imperial Prime Minister - Sanae Miyasu

Citizens of the Sirius.

It comes with great displeasure to step forward on this day. The sector remains troubled by crime, greed and warmongering. Since the fall of the Gallic Kingdom and the defanging of its predecessor states, Sirius had the chance for a new dawn of peaceful relations similar to that which many generations prior to the Colony Wars enjoyed. A chance many brave souls strive for every day, a chance that might just slip away right in front of our eyes.

The law abiding and the law upholding parts of our great Houses worked tirelessly the last few years to preserve a peaceful co-existence, to preserve the ideal of open trade and non-military solutions to conflicts of interest between our nations in spirit of the Boorman Treaty. Decades of warfare spun across Sirius shattered our trust, but trust was rebuilt where possible.

Through a period when the sector holds its breath at the ongoing reconquest of Dublin, bears in mind the implications to space travel linked to the infamous "Blackout" event, in a time where every small disruption could crush the fragile peace we all enjoy, one nations politicians aim to risk it all in blind pursue of intelligence fed accusations and wargame plans.

Almost three years ago, Roppongi Station and several hundred people of all great Houses fell victim to a most barbaric act of terrorism. The notorious radical terrorist organization of the Farmer Alliance succeeded in smuggling several makeshift explosive devices onto the most busy trade and interaction hub of Kusari, rupturing the entire stations internal structures through the detonation. The shock still runs deep, for everyone, and whilst the established taskforce responsible for rooting out the Farmer Alliance managed to deter several other terrorist attacks so far, the Republic of Liberty refuses any offers of intelligence and counter-terrorism cooperation. Grief, anger and rage are natural responses to loss and suffering but they should not prevent biliteral cooperation aimed to qualm terrorist attacks. And we all suffered, we all grieved. Many families of all great Houses will remain ripped apart. The shortcomings on this day will rightfully remain a stark reminder to be vigilant to the Empire forever and never forget the lessons learnt paid in blood.

In opposition to an arrangement of mutual cooperation against atrocities committed by fringe extremists lingering within both colonies, which would have granted Liberty access to the taskforce's findings and means of operation, the Republic indirectly accuses the Empire of not just tolerating but having orchestrated the attack on Roppongi. Words cannot describe how utterly disgusted we are and how strongly we condemn such disgraceful, blatant lies.

A recently thwarted attack on Deshima Station by Farmer Alliance extremists and the subsequent withholding of both the ability to detain and interrogate the culprits as well as not being provided the exact details of the attack by sides of the Bounty Hunter Guild and the Liberty Security Forces, leads us to believe that the Republic has no genuine interest in supporting counter-terrorist operations but prefers to utilize gruesome acts committed by this third-party, these scum of terrorists, for their own agenda.

The Republic of Liberty is jeopardizing everything our ancestors built up among the colonies through its recent actions. Verbal and military provocations have now led to economic provocations. President Hawthorne of Liberty announced a full-scale embargo on Superconductor exports to Kusari as means to "punish us for our shortcomings". Whilst the Empire of Kusari would rather avoid any confrontations, this decision by House Liberty leaves us but with a single choice.

A reciprocal embargo will be put in place for all types of Kusari-made Optronics bound for the Republic of Liberty. The Empire of Kusari holds no interest in a trade war with the Republic of Liberty and strongly urges them to not spiral their confrontations any further.

For the sake of our houses citizens, quit your wargames. Turn back and let us assist each other, not demonize another.

In service of Kusari and her people,
Imperial Prime Minister,
Sanae Miyasu
