Kusari Navy Strikes
GALILEO
As tensions rise in Galileo, the Bristol Herald is able to report that a Kusari Navy strikeforce was destroyed following a stand off outside the Galileo-Colorado Jump Gate.
Bristol C&M patrols first detected a build-up of Liberty Navy vessels outside of the Jump Gate, which held their position and refused to answer any questions concerning their presence in the border system. These vessels included a battleship, several battlecruisers, and a number of snubcraft. The Boorman Accords do allow for their presence within that area, as Liberty Rogue activity from the nearby Reppu Cloud have increased in recent months with gunboat assets.
Kusari Navy assets entered the system, amounting to one battlecruiser, five destroyers, and a variety of gunboats and snubfighters, and proceeded rapidly to the Galileo-Colorado Jump Gate. By this time, the Liberty Navy task force had grown in strength, likely calling on mustered reserves in Colorado itself, amounting to nearly a half dozen battleships, numerous battlecruisers, gunships, and snubcraft, both outmassing and outnumbering the Kusari Navy by an estimated 3 to 2.
Kusari Navy forces proceeded to engage Liberty Rogues caught between the two forces, disrupting the Trade Lane and forcing Universal transports to attempt to flee the possible battleground for safety in the Livia Cloud. Kusari forces engaged these as well, before quickly initiating combat with the Liberty Navy.
Due to the extreme unbalance between the two forces, the Kusari Navy was handedly defeated and as far as can be told only a few of its vessels made the journey back to Shikoku. The loss of life has been significant.
After reaching out to the Liberty Navy for comment, we received the following statement:
"The Kusarians pressed their near-home advantage the first time around. We returned the favour.”
