Considering our operational layers often times overlap, it was suggested by SLRC staff to initiate a transmission link between us in the interests of cohabitation of Tau-23 and our regular interfacing together on various projects. This link will remain up so long as we work together on various tasks.

With that out of the way, I wanted to reach out to see about possibly gaining some help in restoring the Dreamscape. It was recovered from Earhart some months back and barely made it home to Tau-23. After it arrived at Ikarus, its reactor finally gave out and died. The ship is now being held in place by Ikarus's onboard docking computer by utilizing the station's tractor beam (which is why, if you have docked lately, you may have noticed you had to do so manually).

We've already had some bites from Junkers and other groups wanting to salvage the old girl. To prevent the Buzzards from picking pieces off her corpse--not to mention restoring a ship from our golden age--we want to get it back up and running. However, we're unable to do much with our limited personnel after the unfortunate disappearance of much of our people months back from the unknown incident that the Pathfinder Dante Flintlocke discovered. This has led the Carrier to sit and rot away in space. The way I see it, our best-case scenario is to reach out to the local IMG and see if we can use their shipyards in Tau-44. However, before any of that, we would need to see about restoring limited power and shoring up the superstructure enough to be able to make the trek to Singapore.

I know you are explorers by trade and I doubt you have any real ability to speed up our progress much, if at all. Truthfully, I'd like to get the ship to Livadia, but with the distance involved and the number of jumps required, I don't think she would make it much past Tau-37...not to mention flying a ship of this class through Omicron Alpha, even if nearly derelict, would no doubt agitate our Outcast neighbors beyond the Taus--and I don't think any of us want that.

Let me know what you all are able to provide assistance with. Much of the technology onboard has been destroyed or is hanging on by a thread. Any of the Zoner tech which is considered protected by our people has long since been stripped from the hull. In truth, the Dreamscape is more a "Ship of Theseus" at this point, with all of the tech removed or added over the previous years.

We await your reply, and we look forward to future dialogues over the coming months. May our cooperative spirit continue to endure for years to come.

Wonder why Albert didn't... Ah well. I greet you Dr. Morningstar of the Starlight Research Consortium.

You're speaking to Vanesca Catallia. It's strange that this vox was unanswered so far, despite the level of importance that this message of yours holds.
Alas, let's see how far we get shall we?

As you're seemingly familiar with us and what we do, the Starfliers are mainly explorer-type researchers. We're on our way to broaden our horizon.
The Independent Miners Guild may be convinced with interest in a rare case and the right amount of credits considering there neutral standing for as far as I'm concerned. You're right that it makes more sense to try and get access to a repair dock nearby than trying to tow something as big and subject to falling apart further on a long voyage.

Out of the box we can assist with acquiring the resources and preparation of the stranded Dreamscape. Not many of our men and woman are of technical background but we may find some that could assist here and there. My assumption is that the Dreamscape mainly needs to be readied that it can be moved a small distance right? I'm confident that we're able to get that done together, given a good moment of time and If the answer is yes.

You are correct. The ship only needs to be moved a short distance from Ikarus to Tau-44.

The biggest hurdle will be getting the reactor shielded once again and recalibrating or replacing the damaged Ingenuus Core at the heart of said reactor. At present we can get about 3% reactor power out of her, but it bathes the entire engineering deck in high levels of radiation when powered due to the shielding being stripped away. We estimate we can get approximately 15% if properly shielded and with a new core that percentage goes up to 25%. Power flows from said reactor are also leaking like sieves so this is probably the best we'd get assuming 100% repair efficacy within orbit of Ikarus.

The second hurdle is going to be the strafing thrusters. The original impact of the ship in Beta critically damaged the forward sections of the carrier, leaving many of those thrusters destroyed or damaged beyond repair. Any that are left are so clogged with Dark Matter residue, they might as well not exist at all. Moving through Tau-23 is challenging enough in tight quarters suck as Tau-23 without the ability to strafe around larger asteroids. Cleaning those thrusters would give us more maneuverability through the nebula and the Dark Matter residue could double as a joint research project between the Starfliers and Starlight. Considering the amount of time the Dreamscape spent in both Alberta and Earhart, this could yield interesting and fascinating results.

Finally, we have heard back from the IMG and they are chomping at the bit to help. No doubt the opportunity to work on an Aqulion-class Carrier has them excited even if she has no Zoner components left from our various projects and retrofits over the past six to seven years. They've offered to send out a crew to assist with getting the reactor online and we've discussed our particulars in a return communication but have yet to hear back as of the writing of this reply. Provided they are able to send a team out, I am confident that between the three of our groups, we can get the old girl shepherded to Tau-44 and back on her feet within the year...provided of course the damages aren't completely catastrophic.

Hmm the radiation shielding will be a challenge. But it should be possible within reasonable time.
I am not sure if any of the Starfliers has experience with Ingenuus technology, I doubt that but our helper will be educated to be as careful as possible, of course they will have to learn that stuff cause I am interested. It may prove beneficial, even if we only understand a tiny fraction of it at the end.

This will sound "crude and rough" but; we Starfliers have one Archon-Miner to bulk acquisition of raw materials. It's big, chunky and effectively a giant board. It just came to my mind that we "could carry the carrier" with it? It may also be just a silly idea, mind I am not a tech expert.

But aside from that idea; For now I suggest that we get clearance to send a few assessment teams down onto the Dreamscape using regular gear with ships nearby for resupply of the crews. Clogged thrusters sounds easy on paper so the Starfliers could do that right of the bat, maybe we even find something rare stuck in there, considering the Dreamscape was a drifter.

Do you per chance know if the docking ports are still stable? We could use a transport attempting to at least get a smaller section repressurised for people to work their way slowly towards the engine compartments.

I'm afraid anyone dealing with Ingenuus tech will have to be Starlight only. This technology is controlled and classified by all SLRC staff. The technology involved therein is patented by Ingenuus and we follow in their footsteps. Even our own people have a limited understanding of the tech except those who were once Ingenuus and they are in extremely short supply these days.

Hauling the Dreamscape would work if Singapore was in Tau-23, but doing that kind of a maneuver through an anomaly could be disastrous. The amount of mass involved could destabilize the anomaly entirely at worst and throw you both out mid jump at best--both of which are not desirable. We just got the ship back, losing it again would be devastating and cutting off access to Tau-44 from Tau-23 would be worse. It's still amazing to me that Nephilim-class ships are able to make the transition through these anomalies at all considering their size and mass...though we do still know very little of how rift anomalies actually function despite humanity using them for centuries--it really makes you wonder.

Your teams are clear to venture into the Dreamscape with SLRC tagging along behind. There still is some data on the main computer that needs scrubbed and the Ingenuus core, even if destabilized in the reactor, needs to be removed and returned to Ikarus for study as to how it became inert in the first place. These devices are resilient and one becoming damaged beyond repair is something our remaining Ingenuus veterans want to investigate. Cleaning out the thrusters won't be a problem. Much of the residue appears to be fairly standard and innocuous to dark matter activity. Though initial passive scans reveal something unique within their cellular structure. It's unknown what this means, but more research is necessary to ascertain what this actually means.

Docking bay 4 onboard is semi-functional. Right now we're being forced to manually cycle the airlocks there due to a lack of reactor power and the fact that the doors are jammed due to superstructure damage. All other bays are sealed shut as a result of some kind of overload from the main computer and reactors. We haven't been able to access them from outside or inside but measured readings reveal pressure inside. Could be that a protocol of some kind sealed this area off as a means of protecting the crew. We're unable to get access to those systems with out the passcodes from the late Dr. Montgomery. Though we are looking through records in an attempt to find them and get those bays opened back up.

I don't need to tell you that this is a flustercuck. It's barely even a ship at this point anymore with the amount of punishment she has been put through--but she has to be restored or all that we have sacrificed in the past few months is all for naught. I won't stand for that.

As soon as we hear back from the IMG, we will patch them into additional planning.

We'll see. You get that reply from the guild. My teams will start sorting things out around and on the outside of the ship. Cleaning the thrusters, catching possible parts that want or are drifting away and such. Once your people are at the scene we can try wiggling our way inside in a way that won't risk any personnel.

Worry not, we Starfliers know where we are allowed to look at and where not. I will join the site as soon as my own project reaches construction phase which should happen in the next 24-48 hours. Once that is finished we can try to use the power distribution from the Argentum to remote supply parts of the Dreamscape. It should be able to help with basics such as light, doors and possibly ventilation systems.
