Shipyard Mooring Request

Greetings, IMG. This is Dr. Leo Morningstar, Director of SLRC and one of your neighbors in Tau-23 at Ikarus Station.

We're reaching out to request a mooring point at Singapore Shipyards in Tau-44 for a massive undertaking and restoration project of an Aquilon Carrier. The Dreamscape, as she is called, was recovered from Earhart after several years following a disastrous jump drive accident which landed her in uncharted space. We recovered her from the depths of Earhart after suffering substantial losses to an attack by unknown ships during its recovery. The ship was able to make it back to 23 before faltering and dying outside of Ikarus Station--her reactors spent, and her future in question. Much of her internals are not anywhere near the design of a standard Carrier-class Zoner vessel. In fact, much of the tech onboard was replaced over the five years the Consortium had her in our fleet--and much of those components have since been destroyed during our ill-fated recovery mission.

We are working with our other neighbors, the Starfliers, to restore the reactor as well as strengthen the damage to the superstructure enough to make the trip through the Tau-44 anomaly. This will no doubt take time to coordinate and accomplish, so there is some time between this project and the mooring date. Additionally, we may need assistance with work on the ship itself, as our personnel numbers have greatly diminished since our more passionate heyday. Of course, we would pay your organization for any work that is completed, as well as provide support in the way of deliveries of various needed materials.

We hope you are willing to assist us in this endeavor, as we lack the means to do it ourselves due to a lack of available shipyards within our vicinity. We considered Livadia, but the distance to the station and the considerable damage to the carrier make this trip impossible.

Thank you for your time. We will await your response.

Greetings Director Doctor Leo,

This is Lya Roche your contact with the Guild’s Singapore Shipyard. I’ll admit, I got a bit excited when your request was redirected to me. It’s not every day I get to work on an Aquilion-class Carrier.
We caught sight of that poor, battered ship as it passed into twenty-three. Honestly, it looked like a ghost from the Gallic War had come back to life. Whoever built her deserves some serious credit, shoddier craftsmanship would've never survived that kind of transit through anomaly from thirty-seven.

If you need help getting her to us, we can dispatch a repair crew and support ships to patch her up and possibly get her engines limping again. Worst case, we tow her in. If the Barrier asteroid field proves too much, we’d need to pull in some of our mining vessels to clear a path but that would have to be listed on the Guild’s job board as it’s not covered under basic drydock arrangements.
Now, about the dock: Drydock Number Three is currently open and will remain so for the next three months. Securing the space will cost you two million credits. That covers the dock time, our crew, and even a group of repair vessels to assist with bringing the Dreamscape in, if needed. It does not include the cost of asteroid miners, as mentioned.
Also, depending on what we find once she’s docked, we may need additional parts and experts from Livadia to assist with repairs but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Looking forward to working on this beauty.
Lya Roche, Singapore Shipyard

Greetings Lya. It's good to hear that you and your team are excited to work on the Dreamscape. She has indeed been through the wringer over the past several years. The ship was lost in Alberta for a spell, then Earhart. The engines are clogged with various residue from Dark Matter as well as much of the ships exterior. The Reactor does fire up to around 3% but containment is almost non-existent so safety is a priority. If we are able to get containment back to the reactor, we might be able to eek out 15% and not start glowing as a result.

Much of the ship is not even Zoner tech anymore except maybe some internal wiring here and there but even much of that has been replaced in the intervening years. Lividia techs would only really be able to assist with the actual hull of the ship rather than any systems active on the interior. The Reactor is an Ingenuus variant utilizing the Ingenuus Cores we have at our disposal so even that is outside of standard Zoner design. We can provide a single core to integrate back into the reactor along with SLRC technicians to facilitate this install as the technology behind the Ingenuus Cores is still considered sensitive and classified information.

We've been waiting on a return transmission from the Starfliers for days concerning assistance in getting the ship space worthy again but haven't heard anything back so we're going to go ahead and work with you fully on getting the reactors back online (or at least safer to operate). Ikarus's bays are open for your ships to land when you arrive. We've even put aside some lodging for your people in the event they need some downtime and don't want to make the trek back to Java. Credits will follow anon after the Dreamscape has arrived at Singapore.

From one Engineer to another, I'm looking forward to working with you and your teams on getting the Dreamscape back into the skies.
