Type: FLUF(?) / Server Config
Bug: Low FPS bug after server appears in selection screen.

Reproduction Steps:
  • Open the game
  • Click Multiplayer
  • Wait for the server to appear
  • Server takes unusually long to load/appear compared to previous patches
  • FPS suddenly tanks to 64-65 even without connecting to the server and persists until the exe is closed.

Additional Information:

This never happened to me before the patch, so I'm putting this under FLUF just in case.
Not V-Sync behavior. FPS caps around 64-65 even on a high refresh rate.
Using the dependencies tool Aingar linked me showed that fluf.dll has missing imports and the other files have missing modules on disk.

common.dll is present within Discovery 5.00.8\EXE folder
FLUF.dll is present within Discovery 5.00.8\EXE folder
I recognise some of the missing dependencies for FLUF.Crashwalker as debug ones in the pre-launch playtest version.

Some workarounds I know:
(Workaround 1): Disable FSO on freelancer.exe, Disable Borderless Windowed in FLUF, Run RTSS (Rivatuner Statistics Server)
Doesn't always work for some people when d3d8.dll is present.

(Workaround 2): Delete d3d8.dll, run RTSS. This makes it impossible to open FLUF UI and causes an error message on boot up but you can still run the game and load into the server.

For testing purposes I tried separately going to the server selection screen with dgvoodoo2 (Translates dx8 to dx11) and DXVK 2.4 from the Linux install guide. (Translates dx8 to 9 to vulkan).

dgvoodoo2 gets the same error as having d3d8.dll deleted on boot up and cannot open FLUF UI but does not appear to get the FPS glitch with workaround 1.
dxvk can open FLUF UI, but gets the FPS bug and I do not know any workarounds. Also tried having the original d3d8.dll instead of dxvk's and it didn't work either.

Can't reproduce.

I've dealt with poor performance on this game through Wine ever since 5.3 dropped, the solution was to disable the frame limiter from FLUF which is enabled by default, and frame rates were as stable and high as usual with DXVK.

Possibly fixed next hotfix, keeping this one here until I get a confirmation however

Can confirm it's fixed for me.
