Right, results are as such, until I can figure out how to combine the Root and Cpnd of the .CMPs, I have no idea how to export the planet into a usable format... I could of course be going about it completely wrong, and people are welcome to correct me...

I wonder if I used the Root and Cpnd from the ship-type one...

Seth you can export it as one group. Here's just a trial run on my side. With 1 CMP, the CMP contains 1 mesh. Adn a simple THN that some of the objects are still missplaced in

Here's the 3ds version that looks a whole lot nicer....pitty.

I think the way you are making it sound will discourage people from trying it because you are making it sound hard. It isn't.

Not that the work you're doing isn't good, but maybe you should leave this one to people who already have extensive experience with working with FL model types.

As it stands you really are overcomplicating the work involved with it, Silent is right about the groups, it can be done easily with one so long as you're familiar with your modeling application.

Secondly as far as programming languages go LUA is considered to be one of the most user friendly and easy to learn. There are enough guides online that it can be picked up to a useful extent in a short time, as well as learning how to program a working .THN file.

Right now you're sounding a tad like a know-it-all.

Know it all? Know **** all is more like it. I enjoy taking on things that I can't do... to see if I can do them.

What I did was look at the existing .CMP's and try and duplicate them, which failed misrably.

*Shrugs*

I'll leave it to you 'experts' then.

EDIT: Readint that post again, I do sound like a dick. Let me edit it.

Don't give up on it. Just don't start big just to fail and give up. Start with somthing small and work you way upto the big stuff. I used the platforms from an existing CMP, i created the terrain and the texture myself. Thats a single mesh on its own. Just find some tutorials on the CMP exporter itself.
