The expedition of 833-834 A.S. was a living nightmare for the entire 34th Brigade. It was madness. It wasn't a physical war in the traditional sense, but a mental one. The death toll exceeded the hundreds, pushing the Brigade to the brink of extinction. Each death inflicted enormous damage on the unit, not so much because of the loss of a valuable agent, but because of the collateral damage to the minds of the survivors.
When the Brigade returned home, the Order was presented with a litany of deaths and their circumstances. Horrific photographs and the cold hand that pressed the keys on the computer, converting electronic text into typed text, created a terrifying amalgamation of how the 34th Brigade had survived it all. But someone had experienced more: Jimmy Manderson and several other people personally compiled all these lists, looking through every frame, clarifying every circumstance.
This event gives you the opportunity to participate in writing the lore of the 34th Brigade. We will only award rewards to the very best, but we can assure you that no one will leave without contributing to the organization.
The gist is quite simple: we have about 20 files, 5 of which the 34th Brigade will handle. They will act as samples. You must write the remaining 15 deaths and their circumstances yourself. The more gruesome, the better.
You're writing a RP for the 34th Brigade. Put moral boundaries aside and do it in a way that will allow you to experience the horror firsthand. We give you complete freedom of action regarding everything you write.
The death file will have a preset template. All these fields will be blank until you submit your own version. Once everything is ready, you can publish this file under your name on the forums. If you wish to remain anonymous, we will publish the file under our name.
Event rules:
Any Discovery player can take part in the event.
We've made it clear many times that the Expedition is more than just a scary story. You must prove that it's best not to talk about it at all.
We reserve the right to reject RP stories from players whose writing doesn't fit the spirit of the Brigade, the events of the Expedition, or the spirit of the Order. No offense, but we have our own standards.
Best RP stories will be divided into 3 ranks (1 rank = 1 story = 1 author)*:
1 rank - Outstanding (5M) - The RP story captures the essence of the horror unfolding during the Expedition. It seems you understand the essence of the Brigade vibe even without our guidance. Will children be afraid of your story? Children, huh? Your text will make even adults' blood run cold.
2 rank - Great (3M) - You've perfectly captured the essence of the Brigade's vibe and the horror of the Expedition. It may not be as terrifying as it seems at first glance, but you nailed it and approached the process creatively. Sometimes you asked us questions, but mostly you acted on your own.
3 rank - Good (1M) - You've likely come to us with questions and frequently clarified all the circumstances. You've probably had to consult with us on your writing. But for the most part, you've gotten the answers you needed and gone back to writing your own text. Be that as it may, your creativity is written by your hand, and we only suggested to you in which direction to direct the flow of your thoughts. However, it is honest and worthwhile work to be rewarded.
No AI generated images/text. Using any of them will result in automatic disqualification.
* - Only one person can compete for first and second place. Third place is unlimited.
If you have written several texts, you can submit only one of them to qualify for one of the above ranks.
You have one month to participate. If you're late, we can wait and submit your story for discussion.
To avoid any confusion, we've published the story in advance, but we ask that you refrain from posting anything in it for now. We'll let you know when you can start.
After a slight delay (mostly due to the iRL), we're happy to announce that the event has begun! We've moved the dates from the 19th to the 21st, so you have two days left. We apologize for the delay.
Due to some real-life circumstances (meeting old acquaintances in another city), the event has been extended until November 25th. You still have the opportunity to post your own ideas about how members of the 34th Brigade might have died during the Expedition. @34th Brigade private messages on the forums are open during this event, and you can submit your versions there or on Discord: perfectgentleman8088
Rewards will also be determined on November 25th, based on the evaluation of the RP stories.
