Evenin',

Name's West, an Exarch of Task Force Prometheus. You had prior contact with Logarch Mori, when he was still hanging about, so hopefully that'll ring a few bells.

Having gone through some of the old contact channels Mori set up regarding a collaborative defense of Inverness, your name and ship came up again regarding some of the work I've been trying to get done for the better part of two years now. In particular, mention of the gunship Undaunted was made, which I've started looking at in an effort to get her combat ready. Since that last contact Mori made, no doubt you've noticed things have happened in Inverness. Liberty arrived with the support of Crayter, tested the waters, and while the spooks have since made steam out, Crayter remains to keep up the pressure.

At the time, you offered the use of your ship's yards to assist with refits and the like. If that's an offer that you'd still be willing to extend, I'd be down to take you up on it.

Evenin' Exarch West,

It's a pleasure to finally connect. Indeed, the exploits of Task Force Prometheus and Logarch Mori's prior outreach ring more than a few bells; tall tales of your dedication to Inverness's defense manage to travel even to the farthest edges of the sector where the Gryphon has found herself these past weeks.

My apologies for the delay in response. Interstellar communication is rarely as cooperative as one would hope, especially when operating far afield.

You are, of course, entirely correct. The Gryphon, and more specifically our Manufatorium, possesses quite the array of capabilities. From large-scale forging operations to the crafting of specialized, or as you put it, "extortionary" technologies, we maintain a standard of service few others can match.

At this precise moment, we find ourselves deployed in the Theta System, committed to existing localized support contracts. However, due to growing operational demands from certain key clients in past months, demands I am now better positioned to address, we are actively planning our transit back toward the core worlds, which will naturally take us through Inverness.

The offer to utilize the Gryphon's facilities for the refitting of the Undaunted still stands. Please provide details on the scope of the work required and any specific material needs. This will allow us to begin preparations on our end as we finalize the coordinates and schedule for our trans-sector jump in the coming weeks.

We look forward to collaborating on ensuring Inverness maintains its security.

Forgemaster,

Apt. I like it.
I feel ya. Places you're needed must take you all across the sector, I'd bet. Been out that way, though the locals were a mixed bag considering the markers we tend to fly.

I got a bit of the lookover on Undaunted done, and truth be told it's a lot better than some of the other hulks I've got in the backlog. Not great, but that's why she's getting all the love and attention now.
Hull's in rough shape, though it's workable. More of an interior engineer, so you and your guys might have better input to offer there than I do. Might just be age, though there is some residual battle damage that needs work, that's for sure.
There's also a bunch of internal issues; Thrusters, weapons, shields. All of it's mostly blackout damage, but there's a lot of age and battle wounds there among it all as well.

Main point of concern's her reactor. No end of issues, won't start no matter how much we try, but the system itself seems relatively intact. I'm thinking delicate parts took the brunt of the damage, and most of it's consistent with some of the other blackout-related damage I had on my own stuff.
Parts-wise, hull reinforcements and armor replacements are gonna be obvious. That pre-fall armor just isn't cutting it anymore, Defiant or no. I've got plenty of engine components aboard El Alto as well, so those there should be more than enough for a lone gunship, even with the damage she's got.
Not sure about the rest of the issues, but I have a pretty good feeling anything they'll need can be better diagnosed after the power's back on.

Here's looking at the start of something substantive. Gonna be good putting El Alto's yards to work alongside once they finally get capable of some real flow.

Exarch West,

This detailed assessment confirms my suspicions, it sounds less like a repair and more like a necessary full retrofit at this juncture.

Regarding the reactor array, while the complete failure to initiate power suggests a deep-seated issue, rebuilding and restarting a reactor core of this gunship's class is well within the capability of our engineering team. Should the damage prove catastrophic, I believe a contingency plan to install an aftermarket array would be a prudent disaster scenario measure, though it would, require substantial subsequent tuning to achieve combat-worthiness specifications. I agree that focusing resources on getting the primary reactor online is the most efficient first step, as proper power diagnostics will illuminate the extent of the blackout damage to the thrusters, weapons, and shielding.

The need for hull reinforcements and replacing the pre-Fall armor is anticipated; the years and battle fatigue would be clearly evident across the vessel's structure. We are fully equipped to handle both the structural work and the subsequent internal refitting you described.

I am finalizing the last stages of our current deployment. We will be commencing our transit toward the Inverness System in the coming days. Upon arrival, we can facilitate the secure transfer of the Undaunted to the Gryphon's onboard facilities for a full diagnostic assessment and to begin the fabrication of required structural components.

I look forward to commencing this substantive work.

Forgemaster Goodman,

Aftermarket sounds good, though I usually try and leave it as a last resort. Buying used from the manufacturer isn't exactly something that's within our capacity out here, and while I'm far less strict on Junkers than a lot of other Legionnaires, that doesn't mean I don't have my doubts sometimes.
Suitable supply might be an issue as well, given Undaunted is Liberty-standard tech, but maybe someone on Invergordon nabbed one of the boats the LSF brought with 'em before they booked it. Worth a look into, especially if there's other goodies they might be selling.

I'll have Undaunted discharged from her mooring bay and put off to the side until you and your guys arrive. I'll also have a few of my engineers assigned to assist with the effort.
Honestly, even if it's just the reactor and hull work, it's a huge weight off our shoulders, so thanks again.
