To: Former Members of the Independent Mining Guild From: Friedrich Krüger Subject: An Open Call to Those Who Built Sirius
Guten Tag,
If this message reaches you, then you are one of the few who still remember what the Independent Mining Guild once stood for. Hard work. Fair reward. Community. A future built by miners, not taken from them.
Those days were stolen — first by the Corporations who fattened themselves on your labor, then by the Hessians who raided your hauls and called it “revolution.” Both claimed to fight for the worker. Neither ever did.
You, more than anyone, know the truth of it.
The Unioners extend a hand not as rulers, not as saviors, but as fellow laborers who were cut from the same cloth and betrayed by the same powers. We are rebuilding something different — something of our own — and there is room for those who know the smell of ore dust and the weight of a drill in their hands.
If you still have the skills…
If you still have the will…
If you still believe the worker deserves more than to be used and discarded…
Then perhaps your place is with us.
We offer purpose, dignity, and a chance to strike back at those who took everything you built — the megacorporate tyrants above and the Hessian looters below. Neither deserves to decide your worth. You do.
If any of you are seeking a cause worthy of the people who keep this sector running, contact us through secure channels. No obligations. No pressure. Just a conversation among equals.
The engine of Sirius was built by your hands. It’s time someone started building for you again.

At first there is no visual, only audio. A recipient can hear some noise like if someone was rubbing polystyrene against the glass window. Then, the hellish noise finishes and someone is asking why the video is not working and gets a reply, but there is no microphone focus so the recipient cannot make any sense of what was said. Not like it mattered anyway. Suddenly, image appears and the message begins.
Greetings and a very good morning, day, evening or night, depending on your local time!
My name is Anton Fomin, a pleasure to make acquittances! I was very thrilled to receive your message and wanted to answer you immediately after this message reached me however sudden Outcasts attack distracted me and after all those junkies were dealt with, I simply forgot about to send a reply! My apologies for this, however it may happen again more than once should we continue communicating.
You see, those issues you mention, and some others were the reason why I and my fellow Guildsmen and people from the Crayterian Republic founded an organization named Borneo Mining Syndicate. It was years ago and unfortunately all we wanted to achieve never came to life - the Guild and the Republic are even more divided than they were after the fall of Aland - however I kept hope that one day I may get a possibility to change things at least for my men aboard the Auriga!
I believe you understand how horrible it is to be a skilled miner, explorer, geologist and so on but instead of putting your skills to use you have to defend yourself from numerous pirate raids to our home system - Tau-44. We would rather be charting some far reaches and seek new resource deposits, but the Guild is not what it was - it is now very petit and deep down into politics.
I however don't want to switch banners right away, because it is not gonna be as simple as changing socks, I believe you understand. You have to fully convince me that joining your cause will benefit my ends, and once you convinced me - I may need your help with convincing my men, who are not going to blindly follow me just because I tell them that the Unioners have cookies. I hope you understand, yes?
So how about we meet in person on some neutral territory and talk face to face first?
Looking forward your response, Anton Fomin of the Auriga
The message ends with man smiling widely - his moustache reminds of two capibaras kissing.
To: Anton Fomin, Auriga From: Friedrich Kruger, Unioner Diplomatic Ambassador Subject: Re: Prospects for Cooperation
Guten Tag, Herr Fomin,
First things first — no apologies necessary.
Outcasts have a talent for showing up where they shouldn’t, and derailing one’s entire schedule seems to be their most consistent skill. I’m glad you came out of it in one piece, and I appreciate you taking the time to reply at all.
Your message carried something rare these days: honesty.
That alone already puts you ahead of most “leaders” in Sirius.
I hear you clearly.
A skilled worker forced to spend more time dodging raid warnings than doing the work he was trained for — that is not a life. It is a slow death by exhaustion and wasted potential. We Unioners know that feeling intimately; our entire movement was born from that same frustration. Workers who wanted to build ships and improve their craft were instead pushed into conflict by corporations who saw them only as assets.
Your experience with the Borneo Mining Syndicate tells me you are a man who has tried, more than once, to build something better for your people. That alone earns my respect.
And no — we do not expect you to “switch banners like socks”.
If that were the case, we would not have survived as long as we have. Loyalty is a precious thing when it comes from conviction, not coercion. Your men are right not to move blindly. We don’t want blind loyalty — we want understanding.
You asked whether joining our cause would benefit your ends.
The honest answer: it depends on what your ends are.
If you want power, we cannot give you that.
If you want stability, protection, and the ability to work without pirates dictating your schedule — that we can offer.
If you want independence from corporations, and a chance to put your skills toward something that actually improves life for workers instead of fattening shareholders — then yes, Fomin, our goals align more than you may think.
But these are words. You requested something more valuable: a meeting.
Name the location, and I will be there in person.
Neutral space, Zoner station, your choice.
Somewhere your crew feels safe, and somewhere where we can speak without the noise of politics or the crosshairs of opportunists.
Bring your doubts. Bring your questions. Bring your men if you wish.
I’ve nothing to hide, and nothing to offer except what the Unioners have always stood for — dignity for workers, and a future we build with our own hands.
I look forward to speaking face-to-face, Herr Fomin.
