Way back I had a blast playing discovery, ran RMN cruisers and battleships and also loved roleplaying AI survey ships- and just per chance watched a video from German games magazine Gamestar about Freelancer where DiscoveryGC also was mentioned- so I went back here and could even log in again smoothly.
Looks like I missed some stuff- see in the attached pic.
I am at the moment only running Linux Debian on my PC, so I will be checking out if I can get Freelancer Discovery to run there and if so will surely hop back into a starflier just for nostalgia alone.
Looking forward to seeing you in space soon, hopefully.

welcome back! if you need help with linux stuff, there are people around in the Discord (link is in the main forum at the top page) who are Linux users who can help you get set up, there might be a tutorial on the forums somewhere but I'm personally clueless if it'll help.
Welcome Back to Discovery! Remember that Discovery is like the Hotel California: You can check out any time you want, but you can neve leave
Feel free to hop into the discord and ask any/all questions you have - Nothing is too small or too silly to ask about, we were all new once and had to ask much the same questions as you might. Player Utilities gives you access to very useful tools to help you navigate through the sector, work out what's where etc. The rules are also on the top bar, both the general ones and the InRP House ones. Other than that, have fun and see you in space, fair wanderer.

There is a Lutris installation script for Discovery Freelancer 5.X. It works like a charm. Don't forget to update the wine libraries in Lutris to Wine 10
