Hi hi,

I've shared this concern a long, long, long while ago here.

After confirming it with a member of the Gallic Government (Caedus) this point is moot as the Gallic law is fine and escorts out of Gallic space first only kill if they refuse.

§1.1. PENALTIES AND DEFINITIONS

Verbal warnings, deportation, cargo forfeiture, and fines of up to 100,000 Francs may be used by Gallic Law Enforcement - Gallic Navy, Gallic National Intelligence, Gallic Gendarmerie, for violations of the following laws in Gallic House space and the Zurich system. Lethal force is authorised in case of non-compliance.

Quote:The ID used had the following law enforcement lines:
Within Zone of Influence (Gallia and bordering systems):
- Can attack ships considered hostile by Gallia.
- Can enforce laws within Gallia and Zurich.

Lets eat, Grandma!
Writing and punctuation is important, cause it leads to confusion. The text above is misleading as you have a colon followed by a list comprised of 2 points. It needs to be edited - i.e.:
Within Zone of Influence (Gallia and bordering systems): Can attack ships considered hostile by Gallia.
Can enforce laws within Gallia and Zurich.
OR
Can enforce laws within Gallia and Zurich.
Within Zone of Influence (Gallia and bordering systems):
- Can attack ships considered hostile by Gallia.

Currently having a colon (Smile followed by a list (-) is misleading, allowing players to interpret Bordering Systems as part of Gallia; therefore the player considers it is able to enforce laws.
What should be clear is the distinct separation between Gallia & ZOI; as the ZOI has a broader reach without the ability to enforce laws.
I am not defending anyone, I am just poiting out a little misunderstanding that has caused issues.

You can shoot, all good. When I wrote this I didn't even think someone would shoot first, like - why against non hostiles - but doubt it'll get you sanctioned

Also Corse has a law enforcement line in Provence, but no laws were ever written and put in the section where they could be enforced

https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=8584

This is an oversight that'd make it much clearer that Corse are the law in Provence and could be mentioned in Gallic laws

Yeah it's awkward that navies have within zoi, and under it they have can enforce laws in [house name] that's smaller than Zoi. There's also oversight in indie ID that doesn't include Zurich (which it should)

Provence case even more confusing because it is locked within gallia (stupid design change for Provence, very) and has trade lanes and jump gates that make it look like house space very much

I'll see if we can make the OF ID clearer when I stop travelling the world for work nonstop hah

Hey Lemon,

Yes indeed, you're correct; it's currently under discussion. The Unione Corse already has a thread dedicated to laws in Provence, but it isn't in the House Laws Roleplay part just yet. Maybe in the future, we'll see how it will be. Thank you.

Should be admins pushing for this since they put the lines in, and now spent a lot of time investigating how to sanction folks for this when the game is literally incomplete - I guess it's good attention was brought to the matter!
