Willkommen!

A humanitarian supply transport operating under the authority of the Kaiserliche Polizei Rheinland and bound for Planet New Berlin was intercepted and plundered earlier this week near Essen Station, an incident that has sparked outrage across the House.

According to information released by a Pressesprecher of the Kaiserliche Polizei Rheinland, the convoy was halted by a Unioner-affiliated Hel cruiser, which seized approximately 800 food rations. The stolen supplies had been designated for a Christmas charity meal at a New Berlin orphanage, intended to bring a brief moment of warmth and dignity to children growing up under the planet’s severe and unforgiving climate.

As a direct result of the attack, the orphanage has been forced to abandon its planned holiday meal and instead rely on standardized Synth Food rations. For many of the children affected, this would have been the only festive meal they were to receive this season.

“This was not an abstract loss of cargo,” the police Pressesprecher stated.
“These were supplies meant for children without parents, without families, and without any means to protect themselves. The decision to steal this food was a conscious act, made in full awareness of who would suffer as a consequence.”

Questions have since been raised regarding how such an incident could occur in the vicinity of major traffic routes. In response, the civilian freight carrier contracted for the transport confirmed that multiple distress calls were transmitted during the interception. According to the carrier, no responding units acknowledged these calls before the pirate vessel disengaged and escaped with the stolen cargo.

While no civilian casualties were reported, authorities noted that the emotional impact of the incident has been significant. Orphanage staff on New Berlin now face the task of explaining to children why their Christmas celebration has been reduced to emergency rations and why promises made in good faith could not be kept.

The Kaiserliche Polizei Rheinland has condemned the raid in the strongest possible terms, describing it as a deliberate attack on humanitarian aid rather than a mere act of piracy. In coordination with Rheinland Military forces, patrol activity in the New-Berlin system has been increased, and a formal investigation remains ongoing.

In a closing statement, the Pressesprecher of the Kaiserliche Polizei Rheinland issued a message both to the public and to those responsible for the attack:

“Rheinland will endure.
Rheinland will protect its own.
And those who prey upon the weakest among us will be remembered — and answered.”

Further updates will be disseminated via the Neural Net as additional information becomes available.
