@Karst / or in the case of my indefinite absence, faction property of @Ionic Inc.
2. What exactly are you requesting?:
An ID permitting usage of a Kusari Destroyer Prototype.
Ionic|Infinity ID Wrote:The Infinity is a custom exploration vessel and field laboratory derived from the Ikazuchi destroyer class, with heavy modifications. The ship was designed and built by Ionic Incorporated, a subsidiary of Kishiro Technologies, as a testbed for experimental ship-board technology, especially related to hyperspace manipulation, to safeguard the company's premier position in the field.
This Kusari Corporate ID is used by Ionic|Infinity, which:
- Can attack Blood Dragons, Farmers Alliance, and Golden Chrysanthemums.
- Can engage in piracy against competitors outside of House Space.
- Cannot use Battlecruisers or Battleships.
Within Zone of Influence (Kusari and bordering systems, Sigmas, Taus):
- Can attack ships considered hostile by Kusari.
- Can attack competitors outside of Kusari.
- Can engage in piracy against Corporate ships outside of Kusari.
(This is just a custom text Kishiro ID that allows cruisers)
3. Character's name, ship name and affiliation:
Emily Furukawa - Ionic|Infinity - Kishiro
4. Why is this request necessary for the continuation of this character's roleplay?:
I hate this dumb question. Perhaps barring certain types of fugitive RP, nothing is ever "necessary". Rather, it is a result of deliberate plans that were carried out over an extended period. The reasoning for the ship/SRP is:
- The faction, Ionic/Kishiro, possesses the capability to construct a ship of this type.
- The faction has good reason to be testing ship prototypes with associated experimental technology, owing to their (possibly threatened) position in the tech field.
- The faction has coordinated the project with the military of its parent house, granting them the know-how and permissions to operate this vessel.
5. What short-term and long-term goals are you planning to achieve on this character?:
In the short-term, its maiden voyage is to be an expedition to the southern Omegas, the newest uncharted area, to explore and hopefully interact with locals.
In the long term, the ship represents the evolution of Ionic Inc.: The company is a Kishiro subsidiary whose primary focus is education, but particularly in branches of physics with obvious military application. As such, Ionic has become increasingly tightly integrated with the Kusari state and military industrial complex, and the Infinity operates as part of the 66th Joint Expeditionary Division with the Naval Forces. As such, she may be involved in projects and conflicts, such as the rising tensions with the Republic of Liberty, that Kusari may find herself in.
6. Provide links to relevant roleplay and a quick summary for each:
(these are going to be difficult to summarize as they are very long) TO: Kusari Naval Forces; Ministry of Defense - The beginning of the "marriage" between Ionic and the Naval Forces, the Ikazuchi project, and the proposed Infinity project. To: Totsugekitai Division - Organization of the joint task force To: Ionic || From: '\S/' - Comms with the Starfliers, who we have been working on the exploration aspect of the project with. To: Independent Miners Guild - Comms with the IMG, who are willing to assist us with the expedition, as it's a region they're much more familiar with than us.
8. How long has this character been building its backstory?
About a year.
9. If you feel that you would like to provide us with character references, specify whom.
Those above I suppose, particularly the Empire of Kusari for their generous patronage. I assume their posts were all written by @Emperor Tekagi but I guess I don't know for sure.
As an endnote, I have been liberal with the distinction between "ship" and "character" in this post since the template doesn't fit this sort of roleplay very well. Since these are high-level talks about a high-level project, the RP was generally done by Emily Furukawa herself, the CEO, and I have listed her in the character section. But this is a project involving a large company with thousands of employees, and she isn't the personal "owner" of the ship, of course.
