Crowe.
Noticed you'd actually praise your sworn adversary and show semblance of respecting rules of engagement. For someone I'd put on a scale somewhere between militia and thugs draping a fancy name over themselves, you'd surpassed my expectations. That's good, would be a damn shame if for everything I'd uncovered in naval records you'd stoop so low.
Sticking around terrible benefecators, you and your lot. Ever thought Technocracy's - them, the lifelong wild card, dragging you down in the eyes of people you and I likewise pledged to protect?
Consider to reconsider. Prometheus' would make a finer group without a stigmatising sigil. I know you catch on my meaning.

I was wondering whether or not I'd hear from you. I saw you hesitate before making that mad run on the Incursus and attempting to flee Valley Forge. Could've gotten yourself killed, idiot. Would have been a waste of talent as I said before. I probably shouldn't be glad you're okay, but here we are.
If thugs and disorganized militiamen are what you think you're dealing with, you're mistaken, although I suppose I can't fault the Republic for trying to cast us in that light. If they admitted anything resembling the Legion of old survived, it wouldn't be very good optics through the looking glass on Guadalajara, would it?
As for the Technocracy, you're even more mistaken there. An IFF is an IFF. How do you see us flying, conducting ourselves? What kit do you see us with? Sure, there's the odd Nightjar or set of Harpes here or there, but by and large it's the same gear we were running before your Republic tried to extinguish us. The Technocracy owed us a debt, and helped us up when we were down. No more or no less than our Commonwealth did for them over a decade ago.
I don't think I'm the one with much reconsideration to do, Luisa.

Bellamy,
So we're calling each other by names already. Well, I don't mind. You're calling it a mad dash - I call it a calculated maneuver. Risky alright, but it startled you for a hot few moments and Valley Forge was just the place I wanted to propell myself towards.
You know my situation was sticky as is, and enjoying Legion hospitality wasn't on my to do list for the week. Gamble pays off or kills you, but if I wanted a quiet life - would've stayed at home and away from the Navy. But here I am, building officer career.
Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for your concern. Grounded in the infirmary but that's just some cuts and bruises from a rough run-in with the S&R. I could fetch a portable NN access device and skip on a good chunk of bed time.
Militia. Thugs. A minor nuisance. That's what you're propagated as to the masses. To calm them down... and for the Republic to try and save it's face now that flames everyone thought extinguished in the fine mess Vespucci has become returns from smoldering coals and ash. Officials had to run damage control - though I don't know what can they really do after the Incursus in Manhattan high orbit.
You don't have to explain to me, nor do I have to reconsider - I know you're Legionnaires, through and through. Fresh faces and new doctrines with the same old ideas.
Unless you mean I should reconsider and pass you the keys to New Jersey. This, obviously, isn't happening too.

SAR roughed you up worse than we did? I almost feel offended. I suppose it shouldn't come as any surprise though; in my experience the Republic values its pilots less than the Rogues, and that's saying a lot. Maybe that's because they've got a bottomless well to draw from. We lost two of our own recently, there was a whole candlelight vigil. You'll forgive me if I have a difficult time imagining you doing the same.
Speaking of both thugs and the sanctity of human life, you're so quick to attack the Technocracy, but these are the sort of people we've been forced to cooperate with in Pennsylvania.
Cobra had actually managed to coax a grudging respect out of me over the years and lost it in an instant with Creed's summary execution-by-gunship. Or at least his ship's, no idea if he managed to eject. Not sure I want to know, either. We wouldn't be in a position of having to work with these monsters if you hadn't torched Vespucci, but then I suppose we wouldn't be fighting to free people from camps on Erie in the first place, either. But no, I'm not naive enough to ask you to return the New Jersey, even if it would help a damn lot.
In any case I appreciate being seen and I appreciate the compliments, but where is this going? I'm sure you didn't reach out just to congratulate me for doing the bare minimum.
From: Luisa Chiavallati. To: Bellamy Crowe. Subject: RE: Respect.
Bellamy,
Not what I meant. Well, considering they had to stop a steadily accelerating object right next to a space station? It could've been worse. But I assure you they've been sufficiently cautious and considerate for their line of work. Besides, Valley Forge... it's a flight school. Not a frontline outpost, so local SAR isn't used to evacuating personnel under the stress of gunfire and overwhelming hostile presence.
You still misunderstood and they didn't hurt me as much as I think you believe.
I do not attack any group in particular, that's affair for the dull and uneducated. But, my judgement is based on history of tensions between that group and the Republic and you surely know it's rather rich for Technocracy. Cobra and the Xenos. Honestly, are you still surprised? He's consolidated an inadequate amount of power in his hands and definitely made the White Star a feared symbol. But not among the people he wanted and not for the reasons he anticipated. He may still be preaching the ideals movement as a whole followed but in truth, they'd stooped to lowly radical brutes, simply being the other end of oppression they believe is prevalent in Liberty.
They're merely radicals. Murderers, and conduct themselves as such. The best they deserve is euthanasia - preferably through a shot in the head.
Let me remind you. Legion, or Prometheus, is not obliged to cooperate with the Alliance. If you truly wish Liberty well? Monsters are meant to be put down, and you know that as well as I. Every dead Alliance fanatic is a boon and a benefit.
I'm obviously not here to praise your conduct, Crowe. It'd be a waste of time even when I'm trying to pass it, though my appreciation's undeniable.
I wish to understan, Major. You, the Legion, it's people, the reasoning and motivation. Surely it's not as plainly shallow as Cobra's modern doctrine. It's not going to sway me to Legion but you'd have a compassionate soul amidst your adversaries. Surely that amounts to something.
From: Luisa Chiavallati. To: Bellamy Crowe. Subject: Gathering storm.
Crowe.
If you care for Liberty as much as you claim you do, you and your Legionnaires will watch the northern border in the coming weeks, perhaps even months.
Can't tell you much more than that, but f you scour the NN and put your mind to it, I'm sure you can connect the dots and steer your people in the right direction. Be careful not to get caught in the crossfire - it can get really hot really fast.
I assume you know who will be your enemy in this case, and the right moment to bail from a skirmish. Don't disappoint.

I think we both misunderstand each other. I wasn't shocked by Moretti's actions; I was drawing a contrast between his ilk and everyone else the Republic vilifies in the name of security, the five house's favorite euphemism for monopoly. I'm not under the illusion that Vespucci and Kansas were turned into mausoleums for any reason beyond the simple fact that they were not the Republic. There's a reason the only planets in the independent worlds are a frozen hunk of ice and an otherwise worthless resort planet, as much as I love a good tan. Hudson will almost certainly be a battlefield again in my lifetime, Atka being what it is.
I'm also not under the illusion that Kusari is any better or worse, and I don't think you're going to get what you want out of that last message. The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy, and the only meaningful distinction I plan to make unless the Exarchy passes down some very difficult to swallow orders is that we are better at killing foreign invaders on our soil than you are.
So yes, I do think you should reconsider. If not the keys to the New Jersey, at least your own allegiances. Either the Republic provides some unfortunate thing that you're unable to live without, or you really do buy into law and order, peace through power narrative. I don't think you're that stupid, Luisa. Either way, we will never let them hold a monopoly on violence.
If you still feel inclined to keep this line open, I'm curious as to how you even took the New Jersey in the first place. Otherwise, I'll see you on the battlefield.
