This is a collection of Vanilla-esque rumors you would find at the Satoporopet Citadel bar. I made this before I gave up on stuff and thought it'd be nice to share.
" I initially joined up after I heard back from my friend who did back before Maehara went up. The fact he bothered to reach out after all this time when they came back from that mess out in the Sigmas really meant a lot to me. When he said they needed help, me and a few guys who left the Farmers Alliance shortly before the LWB split made our way to the Taus to link up with the Tochigi. Ever since I've just been doing patrolwork and the occasional fam flight to help ease the load off of the Training squadrons. We're all rearing for action, though at this point it could be the Kaigun or the LSF and we wouldn't care."
- Lt. Kenichi Niihama, Ouroboros Kotetsu Fighter Brigade, 3d Fighter Squadron
"A lot of people from the old days aren't around anymore. Harpy Squadron left after things went south, Tsukiko and Kiyoshi went off into the blue yonder.. We've seen Mieko around but outside of her having had a brief stint with Auxesia, it's been mostly silence. Kind of makes me sad, since I was one of the people who followed Hanamura from Freeport 11 all those years ago. But, it's not like it's felt like that long for.. obvious reasons, but hey - I'm in it for the long haul."
- Maj-Aspirant Yulia Springsteen, Ouroboros Hakugyokurou Logistics Company, OCS Kanban FCO
"Back in the day a lot of people initially joined up because they thought Hanamura was some mature idol or something. Got more balls than brains, if you ask me. These days people know she's not all looks."
- Lieutenant Akiko Tsurugaya, Ouroboros Mizurashi Section, ODS Mendicant Didact DCC Officer
"She used to be close to that Leviathan guy. Y'know, big metal purpley guy from the Technocrats. I've heard murmurs from Sanzu that he died a while back, and to keep up appearances that hag who runs the show ended up replacing him with an engram. No one knows why, but bosslady seems to have a hurt look on her face every time he comes up. Guess it's something a grunt like me will never know."
- Sargeant Nate Halsey, Ouroboros Kotetsu Fighter Brigade, 2nd Marines, 11th VBSS Platoon
" The IMG were our first point of contact once we returned to the Sirius Sector. Lye Roche and her guys at Singapore saw to it we were taken care of, and after discussions with Schulze and Akibara, we've started to have a closer relationship. Who'd have thunk that the IMG of all people would be sympathetic to our cause?
Wait, what do you mean it's fucking obvious?!"
- Master Sargeant Sajima Nakai, Ouroboros Mizurashi Diplomatic Section, 1st Envoy Security Section
"The base was originally a Starcat base, though a reactor failure ended up taking out the M deck reactor bay and it filled the place with hard radiation. We spent a couple hours venting the atmo into vaccum, and going EVA to bring down the reactor since Starcat couldn't run a SCRAM before heading for the hills. When we got the reactor room.. the reactor was already off. That and the blasted components were looking like they were sabotaged. I asked my CO about it and he said to just get it fixed so we can restore atmo and get the base up and running. Not gonna lie, ever since I've had this niggling thought in the back of my head that something is off with all this."
- Sargeant Tsutomu Kawahara, Ouroboros Hakugyokurou Logistics Company, 14th Maintenance Platoon
"When we came back, we came to find that Crayter are traitorous assholes, Liberty has somehow gotten even worse, Kusari is just as worse, Bretonia makes the former two look good, and Rheinland's in shambles. At least Gallia seems somewhat resembling on the up and up, so there's that, I guess.."
- Master Sargeant Kylie Aensland-Matsuda, Ouroboros Ashitoma Armory, 1st Firearms Production Section
"Some of us are Hafu. Y'know, Half-bloods. In Kusari we get treated like third-class citizens, probably worse than the gaijin at times. We don't fit in, we get turned down for housing, police are just as likely to stop us.. and meanwhile in Liberty, Gallia or Rheinland, they'll give you the stink eye for not being white enough and are just as likely to find yourself homeless and a victim of crimes or hooked on Slog or Carda. And god forbid a Xeno lay eyes on you. A lot of us see Ouroboros as a chance to institute social changes for the better, and not just for us."
- Sergeant Emily Hiiragi, Ouroboros Kotetsu Fighter Brigade, 4th Military Police Squadron
"You see peeps from all walks of life here, and honestly I think that's a good thing. We all can agree Kusari's a mess, and we can make a new future for it. Me, I'm wanted in every house, but after years of smuggling and seeing what the trade does to people I just want a place to settle down and turn over a new leaf. I always liked Kusari for the food, history and culture so.. I thought if they're open to Gaijin, I might as well lend a hand. And if I die doing it? At least I died for something other than my own greed for once, or being shanked in a jail cell."
- Newcomer Jake Ashland, Ouroboros Kotetsu Fighter Brigade, 11th Training Platoon
"Some of us don't understand why Hanamura-taichou is focused on Pennsylvania. I guess most of it comes from the new guard who don't know how important Zoner Society was to our movement's roots. A lot of people from 11, Dragostea and Rathgrith gave up their ties to Zoner Society to join a cause greater than themselves. And after losing Seraphine, which was an Aquilon that kept the cause afloat, which.. if you ask Hanamura, she'll say she feels like she stole it from them - she feels a duty to help them, especially now that the Omicrons and Independent Worlds are becoming a lot more hostile to those of the Zoner variety these days. Who knows. Maybe we'll get another Aquilon out of it."
- Major Aspirant Yuuki Sekihara
"Major Song's probably one of my favorites among those in CENTCOM. Her wiseass remarks and back in the day, bullshitting Hanamura was great for morale. Wonder why she's stopped doing it so much these days."
"I once saw an Ex-GC beat the shit out of another one here at the bar for saying that we should be more lenient on the Gen'an. Sure, they were drunk, and cat fights are always fun to watch, but there's a serious distrust of the GC, especially the Gen'an. Some say it has to do with a person Hanamura had gripes with in the past being in their leadership, Someone named Megayrah. Others are saying it's because they're apparently all a bunch of man-hating misandrists. Though honestly, isn't that what a lot of the GC are these days?"
"I heard Yoruha put up a memorial for us before we managed to get out the message that she wasn't dead. It's out somewhere on Gran Canaria, though now it's a memorial to those lost on Seraphine and Maehara. Regardless, the fact she put that together means a lot to us. Wherever she is, I hope she's doing better than we are right now.."
"A lot of people dismiss Hanamura's statements about being from Sol, but even we've tried to disprove it as a sort of test of our skills. OSINT and hacks on the Kusari national family registry and historical societies across Sirius confirm cross-references of her, her family, and ancestry dating back to the 19,700s HCE. Mother and father check out, mother died back in 51 AS. Father, we don't have any records for after a few weeks before the launch of the colony ships, which tracks with how apparently he was left behind to fight the Coalition - thanks primarily to evidence of his ship being in their ORBAT for that time frame. Her sister, though, is where things get weird. Records say she went missing after planetfall on New Tokyo. Though Nanami Hanamura.. doesn't have any associated reports about her going missing, other than a statement by colonial forces that, supposedly, wasn't even supposed to be on the Open net. And the same thing is for Nodoka, too. Sure, we have everything about her birth, schools she attended, her incomplete college transcript, her listed name on the ACS Kusari passenger list.. But after that.. nothing. Whatever Kishiro and Kusari state are up to.. it's very fishy. And not in the punny Kusari Sushi kind of way."
- Major-Aspirant Trent Gadsen, Ouroboros SANZU DEVGRU, Kourindou Intelligence Directorate, 2nd Intelligence Section
" Mark my fucking words, the GMG is going to pay, one way or another. For Maehara, and for my fucking brother. Hanamura said once about putting Namura's head on a pike outside Niigata. I think that's too nice for the bastard."
- Sergeant Hikaru Tanaka, Ouroboros Kotetsu Fighter Brigade, 2nd Strike Fighter Squadron
"Why don't we work with the Order? Good question, maybe you can ask them why they think nuclear genocide against innocent civilians is a bright idea, then maybe we can have a discussion."
- Lieutenant Ulrich Mannheim, Ouroboros Kotetsu Fighter Brigade, 1st Bomber Squadron
"People ask me if we think Sanae Miyasu is compromised by the nomads. My response is always thus: Does Damien Morreti bleach his hair?"
"An old running gag among the guys in the MIDCOM is debating who's hotter, Hanamura, Song or Kobayashi. Me, I think Kobayashi's got that strong big sister energy, and I can't get enough of it. I'm hoping my transfer to Mizurashi's security teams gets approved so I can see her."
"We and the BD typically don't exactly see eye to eye. We're progressives, they're traditionalists.. But, we can both agree that anything on either side is better than what Miyasu and her goons are cooking up at the capital."
"I've keep seeing this girl with golden blonde hair coming to the base to visit Hanamura. She's usually escorted by a light MP fireteam packing 7C2s. Whoever she is, she's gorgeous and Hanamura really wants to make sure she is taken care of. I think I even saw Iekahara with her once."
