Hundreds of foreign neural-net websites shut down amidst election phase
New Tokyo, 25.02.836
Several hundred foreign neural-net websites were shut down amidst election interference concerns
In a bold and sweeping operation, the Kusari Office of Intelligence has executed a massive cyber offensive targeting hundreds of neural-net pages across the Sirius sector, effectively shutting down several for good whilst blocking access for all Kusari IPs for several hundreds more. These sites were actively disseminating misinformation and anti-system propaganda aimed at all major political parties competing in the ongoing parliamentary election race.
While the degree of slander and falsified information varied significantly by party, KOI officials stressed in their statement that investigations have so far uncovered no evidence of deliberate involvement or cooperation from any of the Kusari political factions themselves. The majority of the offending neural-net pages trace back to remote borderworld locations followed by a complete fade out of all tracks, indicating a rather sophisticated approach to this operation. Authorities have raised serious alarms over a troubling subset originating from multiple locations deep within Liberty space prompting renewed scrutiny of cross-House information warfare threats. A spokesperson of the current active government noted that no statements will be given as to not interfere with the election further.
Stay tuned for more!
