Esteemed gentlemen,
I am forwarding my discussions with our Kusari partners regarding the recent Jump Drive leak, and talks regarding our efforts to fortify our holdings in the Tau region. In light of the aforementioned leak and the subsequent invitation by our Kusari counterparts to take part in the joint research of future Jump Drive technology, including possible countermeasures, it is my ask that the most honorable Defence Secretary provides insight upon the intentions of the Bretonian Government with regard to our common approach to the problem of Jump Drive proliferation in the Sirius Sector.
Taking into consideration the tensions between the Republic of Liberty and the Kusari Empire, I shall also await further advisal from senior defence and foreign office representatives before committing the Armed Forces to the mission described by Goryo.
Intelligence Service officials may also access this channel and provide input upon the course of action that puts Bretonia's interests above all else due to the sensitive nature of the subject.

Gentlemen,
I'm not going to beat about the bush, to do so would leave us vulnerable.
Assurances from Kusari that third party devices are years away is a matter of damage control, not something I personally believe. That being said, we would do the same if we were in their shoes. It is an understandable tactic used to galvanise two former enemies against the threat that Gallia has proven to be. Along with the rest of Sirius, we too hold the leaked data. While a complete analysis has not been completed as of yet, my technicians are confident that it wouldn't take much to produce a viable device in the not so distant future. Something that we simply must be prepared for.
In regards to the shifting policy of the Armed Forces in the Tau region, about bloody time. I applaud this change of heart. Gallia has consistently shown disregard for any other inhabitant of the Tau regions.
I am, however, concerned by two other possible points of ingress. Edinburgh currently stands wide open apart from our listening post. Recent Watchkeeper data suggests routes through to Gallia, although possibly not viable for larger capital ships. We'll continue running recce flights to ensure our data is up to date.
The other point is unfortunately with our cordial-natured friends in Rheinland. They are entwined with Gallia on a scale that could jeopardise relations should this turn into a larger scuffle. I cannot in good faith say they would not allow operatives from Gallia to enter Bretonia to perform clandestine actions.
While our current situation seems rather dire, we will prevail as we always do.
