Though.. need I remind you we have something of yours and Kishiro's. That.. being said, if we can agree to a.. non-formal detente between the two of our nations I feel the peace can be kept. I have gotten what I could realistically gain given our best efforts. I think you know what I mean - your sister, after all - if she were held hostage by Liberty, or the Gauls - would you not move heaven and earth to get her back?
That being said.. onto the topic of recent events.
Personally, I thought we already left quite a mess for you and your ilk on Honshu, ne? First your jump drive research is compromised by some random Lane Hacker cell. Then it's blasted cross the sector for everyone to see.. and what is more, Sunrise suffers a debilitating loss in the elections and now has to play nice with those Hanazono lunatics. Icing on the cake would be that aforementioned something-something. But I think the cake is just fine without lighting the entire sector on fire any more than it already is.
Now, whilst I'd rather little Shinobu had not been maimed so ruthlessly I was.. pleased - to see the Hanazono take a hit. Say.. what you will about Oita and the fate of our flagship. But we at least let, and tried to help the innocent escape the violence that came in our wake, to the extent we reasonably could. Though then again, I'm certain the KOI's report was nothing but agitprop and saving face. Our ideologies aside, we at least agree that war, be it cold or hot, civil or foreign - should not be something the innocent have to die in.
The KLA's attack is ruthless, and if anything, either has afforded you room to breathe as their party shows weakness or.. more likely than not, have found themselves a martyr. I think you know full well the ideals the Hanazono hold dear.. and what they believe of women like you and I, Miyasu-san. They think women like us have no place in business, in government. We should be housewives and if we fail that, be cast to the lowest pits of society.
I can tell you're likely nervous - there's no need to feign absolute strength here. My quarrel was with your predecessors and the demon they created, never with you personally. That being said - I think it is in our mutual interest, for me, even as an exile - to want to not see Kusari devolve further into clinging to old beliefs that predate even I, all likely in the pursuit of vesting power into people that likely do not deserve it - and for you, to ensure your political and when you retire from being on top of Kusari politically (save the Emperor) social life does not get either cut short, or devolved into someone who has to cook dinner for a possibly abusive husband and relegated to being at best, arm candy or a prisoner in her own home.
Personally, were I given the choice, with all I have learned, all that I have seen - at this juncture seeing your party fail would be met with grave concern. Because if history has taught us humans anything - it's that authoritarians like the ones you and your Sunrise Party are three steps up from - they tend to not last very long, and burn brightly - and not in the good way.
With.. all that. I have a request for you. My and Nanami's mother and brother are interred at the Mizuguchi Columbarium on PNT. I would like to kindly request that, assuming there are no next of kin that object, that their remains be surrendered to the Utsunomiya Commonwealth for a private burial at a site in the Kieya Woods on Gran Canaria. I already intend to be buried there when I die, as well. I am willing to afford all costs for transport and arrange an exchange of the remains at a neutral facility of your choosing, outside of Kusari's borders.

I do not have to be reminded of your actions, nor do I need you to try and play the sympathy card by mentioning my sister. Just as a notice, she's not my biological sister and too intelligent to ever fall hostage to anyone. She takes hostages, I would know as I was one myself in a twisted way many years ago.
I align with your view on not desiring to see the sector set ablaze but you can thank the Republic of Liberty and their endless arrogance for this. Had they not interfered with the recovery of the experimental wreckage, the Lane Hackers would have not been able to snatch it and release a leak so dangerous that it should actually cause mass hysteria among the colonies. These incomplete schemata will lead to catastrophe when put to use and so will whoever figures out the missing pieces in a few years and unleashes uncontrolled devices on the market. You can think of the Empire what you want but the sole goal of the project was to free ourselves of Ageira's monopoly and the never ending political soft power the Republic of Liberty yields against everyone as a result. With the project unleashed upon the sector, its militarization is only a question of when. The Republic set the sector on fire and steers us towards total chaos. How many souls do you think will have to pay for their relentless desire of total control over technology? Tens of millions if not more. Their current course is the third gigantic threat the sector now faces within barely fourty years and there is basically no one capable of opposing them right now.
The terrorist attack on the Fujiyoshida Shrine is spineless. Religious zealots attacking other religious zealots and causing the death of innocent bystanders. Their target were all members of the Katsuherabo family residing there, this included little Shinobu-chan. I was in her hospital room, comforted the girl. Have you ever held a little girl who has just lost her mother? Terrorism is never the answer. Societal changes cannot be forced through bloodshed, they appear gradually and require delicate guidance to be successful. Likewise, I stand against needless bloodshed as answer to this attack. The Dragons sealed their fate by supporting it, yet this does not mean I have to stand idle as vigilantes aim for pity revenge and utilize it as an excuse to cause havoc against those they only so much as disagree with. I have successfully stopped such endeavors for now by exerting control over those they bow to and know whom to look out for to make sure none step out of line.

Your misconceptions about the Hanazono and the families behind them are also not helpful. Hai, they are ultra-conservative religious zealots for the most part, yet they break those ancient norms you believe they stand for. All of these families are matriarchal in nature for centuries now. They do not seek to remedy the gradual progress made since the Republic on women's rights and the role of us in Kusari society, they actually embrace it. A distinct portion of their voter base are religious women in fact. This does not mean that they're entirely unproblematic but there's remedies for this. Inexperienced as they are in the political sphere, they can be controlled to a good extent. Do I wish for their future success then? Not really.
The Sunrise Party wasn't always headed by myself, this only changed with the collapse of the HUP and me cutting ties back in 827 AS. Too close did some embrace the path of terrorism as means to change society by embracing the Golden Flowers. Corrupted flowers, unfortunately. Yuyu Matsuda's teachings have long been hollowed out, twisted and turned into a "weapon against the system", whilst they themselves became slaves to another far more insidious system: The Outcasts. How do I know this? There are ancient archives in Kusari and some original copies of the 'Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom' from 642 AS survived. They differ on many points from those versions the Flowers utilize nowadays, for they include interpretations of a poet's work who is now dead for nearly 200 years to encourage blind hatred and a system where through aimless bloodshed, they obtain total control as part of a holy war. Matsuda's original demands were too early in time, too drastic for the society of that century - not too drastic for these days by the way, not the original ones - and the attempt to force it through violence proved fatal. And fatal it remains to this day.
The Sunrise Party under my leadership pursues the monumental task of mediating all sides of Kusari's society, catering to the military complex, the Keiretsu, the people, the future. But I came to a distinct realization over the years: External threats have long sought to not destabilize but outright wipe our culture and society out of existence. Only a society understanding that some degree of militarization and national pride and unity is what keeps us from being erased or undermined, can survive and thrive. We have waged wars over wars in the past decades, some I still believe to have been a mistake, but we cannot sit idly whilst external forces try to wrestle control. The Republic of Liberty made an attempt on my life already, believing it would force us to react as aggressor, when in reality it is them who pursue not just technological monopoly but far-reaching control over our entire house. Our society must grow at its own pace and I can see the first results of non-interference to this process bear fruits. Look at me, I am the living proof that our society can take steps forward. I stand for my ideals, despite friction with many around me, and I prepare accordingly. My influence is limited but growing. You might never fully agree with what I aim for and it would take a couple hours to explain in full, but I do not care. My vision of Kusari is prosperous and I won't stop trying to reach for it.
As for your request regarding the buried remnants of your family members, I will pull a few strings and ask an energetic young girl who is working for my family's side business to handle the transportation. Ria Hirayama of the Mirai-Maru, an expeditionary vessel, will be thrilled to have a reason to discover even more of the Omega Sector. Expect her to insist on delivering the remnants straight to Gran Canaria by herself.

A bit curt, albeit understandably.
That being said, it is good to know. But my point still stands. Irregardless, your point about Liberty is valid. They have gotten too aggressive. In fact it reminds me of some of the moves their predecessor took in the 20th century which led to a very strong rebuke from citizens and the international community alike.
Whilst our intelligence community did grab a copy of the leak, and we are researching it - like any other capable party would, I don't exactly blame you or Kusari for wanting to break free of Ageira's maw. Though that being said, with this, I suppose Kusari gets its wish, no? Now everyone who is either crazy enough or has the resources to burn can tell Ageira to kick rocks. Now if only we could get something resembling Trade Lanes in the lower Omegas..
Regardless, our navy continues Ouroboros' support for Erie. And we have heard whispers that the KOI intends, or has intended to render aid there, through joint command nets. Whilst I have forwarned the Zoners to be weary of the hand that feeds them from Kusari, I never did say they shouldn't accept offers from it. And if we see your men in the region well, that state of detente must be maintained.
As for the Hanazono and Shinobu.
No. I haven't. But I was that "little girl" who lost her mother 800 years ago when me and my sister were kept in cryostasis, and our deaths faked by the predecessors of your government, with that sin kept hushed for centuries. You needn't tell me what that pain is like, because I experienced it. I grieved for weeks after fleeing Kusari. My sister, gone. My brother and mother, dead. My father - died for... whatever in the *FUCK* this collective of states we call houses is. But.. I have at least gotten the former back.. and soon will be able to properly mourn our mother and brother. I doubt I'll ever get a formal or even informal apology for what happened.
Are you a monster, Sanae Miyasu? No. I wouldn't say that you are. You care for the innocent at least, ideologies aside that is a sign of a good moral compass. But you do lead and contribute to a system that doesn't exactly bring about the best outcomes for the impoverished and for minorities across our home, let alone for the people at large. Prosperity is invaluable, but it must uplift all - not just the elite. Otherwise you are just inviting populist rebuke or worse. Hence causes like the Ouroboros, the GC.. the KLA and Dragons.
But I suppose you are striving for that - Prosperity, in one fashion or another - regardless of ideology, that can be respected at the very least. The information you bring about from the Hanazono does.. pique my interest. Whilst their politics still disturb me, being far-right, I do appreciate that at least they seem to want to leave some degree of the social aspect of politics well enough alone. Though, with that said..
When the doors to peaceful change close, violent ones are blasted open. All peaceful doors were closed to me, Sanae. What choice, knowing my home had ended up like this, and had treated me as it did, do you think I had, futile or no?
As for the GC -
We have long since believed, even back during our earliest days of the Ouroboros, that the Golden Chrysanthemums are nothing more than an artery for the Outcasts to peddle their accursed drug into Kusari. Our Ambassador-at-large, Kobayashi Setsuna-san, has first hand experience as a former GC herself, having fled the cause shortly after being initiated. We regularly get shipments of medical cardamine dosages from the IMG as a result, and we're trying to put focus not just on the jump drive, but on trying to figure out how to create a competitor to Stabiline, or synthesize Cardamine without any of the addictive and gene altering properties. After all these years, I'm surprised no one (outside of Cryer) has figured this out. But then again, between Cryer and the Maltese, they likely don't want a cure, let alone some sort of relief from one of the oldest ails in the sector going around.
As for the poems of Matsuda. It would be nice to go over these personally. In my spare time I reviewed the publicly available versions on the neural net, and they do track with your statement of them being much more.. charged. Maybe a digitized copy can be provided for me and some of our social intelligence personnel to look over, compare between versions.
As for Hirayama-san and your response to my request, I thank you for your courteousness in this matter. You could have easily told me to rot in hell, and as much as that would anger me, after everything I couldn't say it wasn't justified. Irregardless - I look forward to bringing Okaa-san and Onii-chan home. It means a lot for me and Nanami. If Hirayama-san is interested and willing to take the trip, she should seek out the Omicrons, at least those in human-controlled space. Stunning nebulae and beautiful sights to see. Just stay far away from anything remotely similar to the Slomon K'hara. And bring guns. Preferably lots of them.
