These factions have been warned over quality concerns:
Gallic Navy, [GN] Reason: Concerns over the quality of roleplay this faction provided and some incidents of bad sportsmanship felt it didn't quite meet the standard we expect of an Official Faction.
Malta Hyperspace Starfleet, HS> Reason: The overall quality of the faction has significantly dropped from the past and the activity mostly seems to come from raid logging rather than natural participation on the server.
Omicron Supply Industries, OSI- Reason: Having one of the strongest trade IDs in the game, we'd like to see more RP interactions and in depth role play activity from the faction, rather than primarily focusing on trading.
Samura, Samura|- Reason: Interactions with other players felt like they were falling short from a roleplay perspective. Quality interactions with other players is one of the most important things we expect out of an Official Faction.
Inactive faction leaders:
The faction leader (1iC) is required to be an active member of the faction (3 hours of activity in the quarter). The following factions must nominate another active member to replace their leader within a month, or lose status:
Bretonia Armed Forces, BAF|
Deep Space Engineering, [DSE]
Junker Congress, .:j:.
Kruger, Kruger|
Factions stripped:
Gas Miners Guild, GMG| Reason: The GMG official faction has managed to retain it's status for a prolonged period of time due to passing activity checks at the last moment, despite a concerning lack of investment in developing the faction and recruiting new members. On review it was felt the OF on the whole is falling short of expectations and is no longer suitable for official status.
True Sons of Kusari, [TSK] Reason: TSK's roleplay felt like it felt slightly short of the mark and recently they have been inactive, lacking an active leader to lead and develop the faction further. As such it was felt they are no longer suitable for official status.
Faction warnings removed:
Civil Defence Initiative, CDI)
The Order, Order|
Liberty Navy First Fleet, [LN]
Other issues:
SCRA is required to post an information thread about their faction in their faction subforum.
All factions with a laws post must review them, and update outdated elements.
So, having no RP at all gets you a pass while having some degree of rp, but concerns over it, gets you a warning? Just to be sure we are on the same page

No. In [GN]'s case I would also argue both quantity and quality are a problem. That then leaves very little besides the occasional raidlog in terms of faction activity for us to gauge. Add a sanction for poor sportsmanship to the mix and you end up with a faction significantly underperforming. The intent behind a faction warning like the one [GN] received is to hopefully nudge you back on the right track.

Someone has to make the first move. Also, in the last few months Kusari's been benefitting from the Liberty "situation" resulting in increased activity, especially around Galileo -- which is in your ZoI. Hell, I somewhat recently watched a storyteller spawn waves of NPC Blood Dragon Destroyers to entertain Liberty Navy players for an hour or so. I think mucking about in (southern) Kusari with a known Blood Dragon tag is actually quite likely to get you an interaction, compared to other factions and regions in the game.
We kindly encourage people to not deflect but rather understand how the conclusion this first quarterly report reaches, has come about. It's not a scornful review, no physical fingers being pointed or biases being weaponised, but purely laying out the facts as is evidenced by faction reports and an extensive staff-wide review which includes quite a number of people so all angles/viewpoints can be covered. We also encourage people to not make metaphorical L shapes with their fingers and laugh at other factions misfortune. Everyone is treated equally, especially given that factions are a driving force of the game and server. We gain nothing by exercising double standards.
If there is something we have missed then please present it so we can correct/re-consider in case of misguided conclusions being drawn. This is the first time this part of the rework is being exercised, after all.
As for the issue regarding lack of activity in areas of the map, there is nothing stopping you from being the target for others. if everyone carries the notion of "we're not logging cos other people aren't" then of course activity will constantly trend downward. Be the change you want to see.
