Error F01: DSLauncher could not contact the patch server (new install)

Type:Patch Server
Bug: Brand new install, Freelancer is installed, Discovery downloaded and installed. DSLauncher gives the following error:

Error Code: F01 DSLauncher could not contact the patch server. The remote server returns an error: (403) Forbidden

Reproduction Steps:

• Step 1: install freelancer. install discovery
  
• Step 2: run dslauncher (as administrator, or not, fails both ways)
  
• Step 3: ???
  
• Step 4: Profit
  

Additional Information:

I tried different install directories that were not %appdata%, such as c:\games\ etc.

I tried disabling the firewall completely.

Is there a config file that I could edit to point to an IP address instead of a named server to identify any DNS related issues?

edit: I installed on a completely different computer: same issue.

edit2: Appears I'm either IP banned or my router is blocking. I switched to a different internet connection, and was able to patch / connect. Is there an IP ban list I can check against?

Yes, seems to be a network issue with the launcher address being blocked at my router. Once I'm in game, I can switch back to my regular wifi.

I sometimes have this problem when there is an update which resolves when release & renew my IP.

I'm having this same issue right now. Have no idea what to do and the download section keeps flashing up content not viewable in my location (UK). Have uninstalled and reinstalled, reset IP address. Gettinf F01 and F02 errors.

Anyone any simple instructions on how to sort this out?
