The repair ship can be made useful by simply enabling the repair guns. They are doable but for wahtever reason haven't been done. Similarly, I know a round about way to make the lifter really useful but that's another day. Both these ships at present are mostly decorative though their is some use for them. They should be saved for these things I think.

Again, we don't "need" any new ships--my idea is to open doors for people to come up with new role play and to create more "individual" niches for people to fill.

We don't get repair guns because they explode people when you try to repair ships at full health.

Anyways, if I'm a well-armed pirate, here's what I'm thinking.

"Hmm, a ship that could be a gun runner with lots of loot onboard, or it could be a Q-ship that tries to shoot me. I guess I'll bring along 3 buddies in bombers and shoot anything that moves."

You guys have forgoten the point of Q-ships. They're supposed to be inconspicuous. If a Whale suddenly popped up 6 gunboat turrets and opened fire, THAT would be an effective Q-ship. But then we'd need to have a lot of Q-ship models for the idea to even work, or else people will know what ships are what and shoot them no matter if it's a "real" ship or a Q-ship.

That model looks good BTW, very cargo hauler-ish.

The simplest thing to do is to clone the model of something inconspicuous and re-add it with more turret hardpoints.

I guess i am missing point here but it is possible to make repair turrets...they are added in game on Hamburg city mod. Just ask the guys how they are did it.
