I like the Salvager the way it is now... It was a unique style of ship, one of a kind. I'll be disappointed to see it turned into just-another-gunboat.

But, if that's what the Junkers want...
The rules were briefly changed to have the Salvager reclassed as a gunboat.
I just decided to lobby for a few changes to make it more gunboat-esque if this was to be the case. Things were revised. All is as it was, with the common sense-inspired rules revision that if a transport goes and attacks you and dies or flees, the 4 hour rule is in effect.
The reasons the Salvager was singled out was because it was the ship in question that attacked someone with the connections to make the decision, and it has the ability to use pulse cannons.
ok - xoria now cleared it all up - however its nothing new....
when a trader ( in 4.84 ) was flying an eagle and died in combat - he wouldn t be allowed to re-engage either... and i don t think anyone would disagree with it. - a trader in an eagle that attacks pirates and dies in pvp is of course fighting, not trading ( that means... his role is to fight not primarily to trade )
so from what it seems - a salvager that activly hunts, attacks or pirates ( or for that matter - acts outside the pure traders role ) is not a trader and not to be considered as one. - quite easy
turns out - there s no need to revise the stats of the ship *phew*
