I am just playing as suddenly my Keyboard setting in Freelancer switched to english, my z and y are swapped and many signs. Cant really make a local chat.

Did i press a random code to change it? I dont know it suddenly happened. Please help me D:

Are you sure it's not your general default language that has been changed? I'm not even sure it's possible to change the default language for only one program.. but I'm probably wrong.

No, freelancers only language available is the version it was sold in, since duplicating the games massive text and audio files more then once would make the game unreasonably large.


Could have something to do with the Disco mod replacing certain language files when installed, since the mod is only released in one language.

Hmmm, you mean it switched from something like a German layout to US/UK (only combo I know of that switches y and z anyway)?

If so, I think the Windows default to switch is shift + left alt. Did you hit both of those at once? Because it definitely seems to work in Freelancer, though anything I changed to seemed to only input Cyrillic or ?, on that note.

Edit: Oops! I totally wrote that wrong. It's LEFT alt + shift on my computer to switch.

Anyway you should check out your regional and language settings in the control panel (Ok I got those titles out of nowhere, I'm kinda trying to translate the name from French to English)

But if that happens only in the game, then maybe you've got a different keyboard set up in game and you'd have to change it. I can't really be bothered to find the English title for all those windows in English so try to figure out how to set up a combination of keys that will allow you to change your keyboard setting to normal while you're in the game.

Also, try CTRL + Shift, my keyboard changes from an azerty to a qwerty when I push it.

I believe I'd like to thank Ktayn here, because I had similar problems, and now thanks to pressing Shift+Left alt, my pc now types the keys I press.
