Before I ask, I want to say I have read the forums and wiki, I'm just confused. I played Freelancer years ago and just became aware of the mods, and wanted to set everything up due to my love of the game.
- After installing Discovery, can I still play the original story line from the game with the new ships/systems/etc. added? I didn't know if it added new things to the existing game, or it was like another game in and of itself.
- Is Discovery 4.84 a different storyline than Reunion 4.85? I guess what I'm asking is, if I wanted to play through the story lines single player, do I play the original, then .84, then .85 (it says .84 and .85 are different time periods)?
- As a newbie, are there any other mods that work well with Discovery that I need to grab? Is bloom worth getting?

Sorry for the basic questions, I just want to get everything setup right and start at the right place. Thanks!

The single player stays the same.
You can play in single player mode with all the new systems, ships, and such but there is no story line to it. Sort of like playing online with no people.
You just have to set the single player up in the mod activation.

playing the mods you wont get any story lines. you can learn everything from RPing and playing on the server, the bloom is just a visual add on. i dont like it.. some do

Thank you for the quick replies. So you can't add the new ships and system to the original storyline? Also, if you play single player, is there still AI enemies, trading, etc?
