' Wrote:So Verg, you think the reason the Solaris isn't found in wrecks only is that they are, in fact, more powerful than the other class 10 weapons like the code names and Nomads and should cost a lot of money to get. I guess that makes sense, but why classify these two weapons the same as nomads and codenames if they are so much better? I believe that the codename weapons and the two modded class 10 weapons are basically equal in power, only they require a different level of skill to use effectively. Therefor these weapons should all be treated the same way in terms of their accesibility to players.

TOTALLY Agreed with you Yngen

Colodas are sold in Unkown, either Primus or Gammu, don't remember. Not just in Corsair space. I see where you're coming from, but think about this. Codenames are prototype military weapons. Nomad weapons are... from nomads. But Solaris and Purple Goddesses are civilian weapons. Made by civilians. So they're available to buy. Just my ideas, feel free to flame.

I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

Realistically, not many people have more than 2 class 10's on even a VHF, I use 2 sheildbusters and 2 Codies, but im also running a titan, and on anything with less power, I wouldn't bother. I dislike the chainguns, because i have horrible aim, and can't do sustained damage. Some people like them. On all my old ships, i only ever used colodas as my class 10's, and I beliave most other folks are the same.

With the current power available on the bunch of VHFs and bombers here, I have found the Colada is a practical
weapon for just a few of the ships. Koolmo has pointed out one of them.
The loss of two of your class ten slots for just shield busters is decision not taken lightly. There is one fighter
where I actually use just one colada, instead of two blits or tizzies, and I like symmetry normally.
The Solaris certainly I hate to mix at all, range differentials make that a pain in the butt. Power consumption is
astronomical, leaving its use for just bombers really.
You seem to have another quandary here, similar to the previous one, where a lack of suitable availables to go
with a strict regime is causing problems ... I have my thinking cap on too.

Lack of suitable weapons, though valid and important, is the subject for another discussion. And even if hardly anyone uses Coladas or Solaris, or even Purples, they are still class 10 guns (thanks Dboy,) and should be on wrecks only, just like the rest of them.

On the coladas, you are right about them, only VHF's with good power suplies can use them properly. And yeah, i also only have one colada on my titan. The range on the solaris isnt a problem as much as the speed of the shot. It goes so much faster than everything else that you might as well have 2 Solaris chainguns and 4 missiles.

Im not sure what the purple godess is in terms of factions as I bought one on Crete for my Brotherhood titan.... I am just testing it but i need to kill...i mean spa with somone in pvp to see if my two missiles are the bees knees or wanna-bees....:P

Well I only have level 9s on my fighters, except one which was fitted with a Nomad Cannon I looted off a helpless little SA.

And sure, the Solaris has high speed, but it has been my experience that people with slower-firing, but higher-damaging weapon do much better in combat. Only time I use chainguns is on capships, as they will chug your energy and a few hits won't do much. Were as a single hit from all lasers will take 2-3 bars off an enemy fighter if you have 4.00.

I have a ravenclaw with 2 coded guns, 2 missiles, 2 skyblast B, and 2 salamancas. it does pretty well.

8.33 refire rate: pretty balanced, no work needed here.
4.00 refire rate: also pretty balanced, Reaper MK V could be toned down a little to 500 per hit, and 100 drain.
3.03 refire rate: good ATM, but nomad cannon is a bit weak.
5.88 refire rate: Weak, way too weak to be class 9, I suggest lowering the drain and increasing damage to 50 more, so the hornviper MK II would do like, 280 instead of 230.
2.00 refire rate: Pretty balanced.
1.00 refire rate: only nomads use this.
33.33 refire rate: Balaned exept for the damage slightly and the drain, lower the drain and damage.
solaris: lower the drain.
