Kaigun Gensui Okamoto was an icon, a symbol of a true Kusari warrior. Fiercely loyal to the people of Kusari, compassionate, wise, unbending and a masterful strategist.
His loss is a tragedy beyond measurement and we shall carry his spirit and love for Kusari in our hearts.
War is on the horizon and the Admiralty cannot sit idly permitting a vacant seat. This seat is now mine, so permit me a brief introduction.
The name is Kojima Akenobu, aged 54. Serving the Empire as part of the Imperial Guard since 31 years. Commander of the Ashuradō Special Forces since 821 AS. In light of changes occurring to the Naval command structure in the nearby future, I was granted the rank of Kaigun Gensui with the blessing of His Imperial Majesty Kogen-dono and Shogun Ikeda-dono.
Command over the IKN-Matsumoto previously held by Kaigun Gensui Okamoto will hereby be transferred to Kaisho-ho Kojima Orochi, as my position does not permit me regular frontline duties. Following the assassination of Okamoto-sama, the Ashuradō Special Forces were called into active duty and I am unable to leave his Imperial Majesty's side for the time being.
With my new privileges, I am hereby issuing the first general order: All fleet command is hereby recalled to the Shogunate's headquarters in the Kōkyo Imperial District. The restructuring of the IAF begins now.

Tensions have been rising lately with Liberty, with some rumors of a full-scale war after the assassination of Admiral Okamoto. While this is our primary concern, the domestic terrorists known as the Golden Chrysanthemums and Blood Dragons were caught planning a surgical attack in the Hokkaido system. Fortunately, reinforcements came in time and our force managed to intercept their flotilla.
While the battle was intense and some of our ships were put out of action, I am pleased to report that the enemy fleet has been neutralized. Granted, some of them were regarded as one of the finest pilots I've encountered. I recommend further patrols, since they may be using the Galileo situation to launch further attacks on Kusarian infrastructure.

I wasn't expecting a group of rioters showing up within the vicinity of Planet New Tokyo after a successful offensive against terrorist elements in Hokkaido.
New Tokyo was put under lockdown and I responded accordingly when I saw a group of rioters near the capital accompanied by a Lord Protector named Mitsuo Akihiro aboard the IKN Haruna coinciding with a coup attempt. Attempts at negotations proved futile, forcing us to enact the Kikosaku Doctrine, marking the Lord Protector and the rioters as hostile targets. Unfortunately, my ship sustained moderate damage and some of our assets went down, but fortunately, all rioters, the coup attempt, and the traitorous Lord Protector have been taken care of.

We stand before the shattered unity of our nation.
What transpired today in New Tokyo's orbit can only be described as a warning sign.
The Lord Protector, still to be treated as MIA, is a man of unbendable loyalty to the Emperor and the people of Kusari. Witnessing his turn against order, to wage chaos and attempt to usurp the system his Imperial Majesty assisted in shaping, is deeply unsettling.
As a close friend and loyal brother in arms to Admiral Okamoto, I have feared Mitsuo-sama's reaction to be of rage. However, nobody could've predicted for rage to turn into blindness. His goal was noble, his cause lives on, but his path was misguided. Unity against the adversaries of our nation, unity against those pledging and threatening to subdue who we are, unity against those who want to see our future generations suffer. To show no remorse in battle, to be a beacon of loyalty, the will to fight to the last breath. These values were represented by the Lord Protector.
His legacy took a dark turn during its last breaths but we shall honor what he has done for Kusari until this point.
United we stand. For Kusari until our last breath. Against any usurpations, foreign or domestic. For His Imperial Majesty Emperor Kogen-dono! For the Imperial Diet! For our beloved and so that Mitsuo-dono's sacrifice was not in vain. It opened our eyes; Kusari must remain vigilant, for else it could all shatter in an instant. Never to falter, tenno heika banzai!

It is a great honor, Kijima-sama, but while en route to the IKN Akatsuki, I was diverted to the sight of a large Corsair fleet, apparently a convoy, escorted by a few members of the Farmers Alliance.
They possessed a wide variety of ships, even managing to down some of our ships. Fortunately, reinforcements came and the IKN Kiri managed to neutralize all threats to the Empire, though not without some damage to the hull.
Nevertheless, my transfer to the Akatsuki is going as planned.
