Can we just please have one thread started by Violette that doesn't turn into a [color=red]FEEDING FRENZY?

Ok, fine, we don't need to move this to flood, but my point still stands.

' Wrote:I haven't read every post yet. But if we add cola, why don't we also add

- donuts?
- coffee?
- NeuralNet pads?
- Mini NeuralNet pads
- Advertisement posters?
- Chicken?
- Turkey?
- NeuralNet pad keyboards?
- Clothes?

wait a minute....thats too general!

- T-Shirts?
- Skirts?
- Underwear?
- School Bags?
- NeuralNet mp3's?
- Chairs?
- Hair dye?
- Doors?

Ok, I think you get my point. I wouldn't like to see us bringing in too many specific commodities. I do like the fact that Halo-tainment bands are unique though, because their meant to be rare and expensive. The cola seems to be everywhere...I don't think we should make it specific in that case, it would just be considered a consumer good IMO.

In case you were not aware one of the options was to move this to flood was it not, just stating my opinion, not spamming at all just saying which one I chose.

Do you know what we need?

Tea

Quote:"After water, tea is the most widely-consumed beverage in the world." (Alan Macfarlane; Iris Macfarlane (2004). The Empire of Tea. The Overlook Press. pp. 32. )

Yes, beer, vine, coffee, Cola, etc. are far behind by popularity! And how would tea fit into Discovery mod? Great - Kusari (RL: Japan, China) could be the producer of tea. Both Kusari and Bretonians love tea and because these two nations are currently in war the tea commodity would offer some great smuggling routes from Kusari into Bretonia, and other kinds of social interaction. Also, Golden Chrysanthemums drink cardamine flavored tea, consequently many Outcasts may like it too.

Some possible tea markets:
- exporter: Kusari (available on lawful & GC bases)
- importers: Bretonia, Liberty, (maybe) Outcasts (RP-ed as cardi tea), Zoners.

Rheinland (RL: Germany) and Galia (RL: France) are not major tea consumers. Rheinlanders have a beer culture, and Galians drink vine.

Everything I wrote reflects real-life situation today.

If we going to implant this, why not implant other stuff, such as contraception .. it could be bought in huge prices by Outcasts

Outcasts don't need anti-baby pills. A side effect of cardamine use is lower birth rate.

Cola would be AWESOME. Other things like tea/coffe and donuts would work well. Also Haggis from a base in Edinburgh would be good. Tea smuggling?

Whenever you want to RP that you have some kind of food/beverage in your hold, get food rations or synth paste. I know someone who got a dozen food rations in his ship saying its a dozen of donuts.

We really need a beer/distilled alcohol commodity, as well as coffee - maybe even tea as well.

These are so widely consumed that they deserve their own place separate from food rations. Smugglers would have an opportunity to bootleg and all sorts of hilarity will ensue. Just imagine - the REAL reason for the Bretonia/Kusari war was corporate competition over the tea market...wait no that's stupid. Doh.

Also, I thought Consumer Goods were mostly clothing and hygiene products?
