I've read the server rules and have thought of a question that the rules do not address.:$
How often is a pirate allowed to tax/pirate the same person?
That is to say, if a pirate demands 5 mil from another player/trader and that player pays without incident, is the pirate allowed to keep pirating that player? Should the pirate leave that character alone for a set amount of time? If so what is that amount of time?
Also, is a pirate allowed to keep killing a player who does not pay?
Just wondering about these things. Sorry if this has been posted before.
A pirate can pirate someone as much as he wants. He could pirate him twice in 5 minutes. Its simply that a trader that has that done to him, will not pay next time and the pirate's earnings drop because of it. Therefor, its bad for the pirate to do..
And yes, a pirate can kill someone who does not pay as much as he wants. If they trader doesn't want to die, pay up, take a different route, or switch characters.
Sooo, should I understand, that the 1-death rule is reserved for PvP enagaemenst of combat-oriented ships? As in, traders can respawn as many times as they like?
Guys, be sensible. Literal taking of the rules like that can lead to a little unpleasantry. If you continually tried
to pirate me every five minutes, I might get a little hacked off, especially if you had just been paid.
Use a bit of common sense, give the trader a sensible time frame that the cash buys for his safe passage.
Five minutes don't come close ...
The same goes for the killing, a trade ship really in any sense of the words does not constitute a PvP craft.
Continual killing could be construed as harrasment, or even dock raping if it was that continual. Pirating rules
are fairly specific in this respect, especially about asking for money before opening fire.
Again common sense should prevail ... Credible time frames should be given.
Or go to the PvP server if you feel the need to kill and pirate something continually.
