Whats happened to mining?

So, I usually mine more than I trade, but not done any since the update.

So I mined in Dublin, the gold fields. Used to get up to 20 maybe 30 units of gold ore in my kitted out mining ship. Now I always get 1 gold ore. One.

What's happened?

I recall Dusty saying that the mining system is disabled...but that was at least a week ago

Because when I mine Iridium I can get 9 ore.

Yeah, traders make the most money. Put it this way, I doubt anyone who owns a BS got it from mining. Mine, 5000 cargo cardi smuggles in 4.84 all the way :P

Mining is unprofitable and requires sitting in the same area too long...

It's only unprofitable when you are silly enough to try it in a large transport without paying people to be 'shooters', otherwise it's not too bad.....as long as the shooters don't run away on you before you are ready to stop.

Mining is *always* my fall back for when I run out of money, shoot half a load of helium and I usually have enough cash to buy a load of Neon, that and I always take my new chars mining right away, it's the fastest way I know to get into a Rhino and from there to a larger trade ship.
