Steam problem

Steam seems to no longer work for me. I try and connect my account, but the thingy stops responding. I've restarted the computer. What's happening?

I've had that problem too. i just turn off my pc and turn it back on, for some reason it works.

Wait, I whent straight to restart. I'll turn it off and give it some time to settle down.

Well, indeed it takes years to download all TF2 patches to work, but if it won't work, what else to do?
