They are all drug addicts. Outcasts aren't usually the most "Civil" people. Oh, and pirates can't really be friendly. Polite, yes, but friendly?

"Oh, hello. I want to be your friend! Give me a million dollars or I'll kill you!"

Outcasts can be polite, but I don't see friendly working out too well.

actually, ive experienced this .. a pirate-gentleman party if you will.

"greetings sir, how about a contribution? if you accept, we would be more than happy to escort you of the system safely - there are lots of pirates here, you see."

a speech like that almost makes me want to give someone credits.
