QMS, or Quantum Mining and Shipping Company, was once a subsidiary of the parent company Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM), but has recently broken away due to the CEO's controversial business practices. BMM and QMS still retain a very close relationship, and are represented as the same corporate identity to the Bretonian government. However, unlike BMM, QMS is no longer owned by the Crown, and for good reason, as the Bretonian government does not want to be held accountable for QMS's aggressive and expansionary operations located throughout the neighboring Border Worlds and beyond.
History - coming soon!
Structure - coming soon!
Ships, Equipment, IFFs, and IDs - coming soon!
This is a preliminary announcment of a new player faction I would like to create. This post is for comments and thoughts on the matter.
What do you guys think?
**All of the above ideas, information, and the name "QMS" and "Quantum Mining and Shipping Company" are the property of myself (forum ID nqabell) and nobidy else.**
This tells me nothing besides your faction didn't like the other faction's business practices and you decided to make a new off shoot. No ships you'll be using, no weapons, no history, no alignments to other factions.
Before you post something up in the factions area, make sure you're 100% ready to go before posting it up, that way people can comment on it as soon as possible.
The key question is what this will add to the server that isn't already there in some form.
Also, have you already visited with related existing factions to see whether this will causes unnecesary problems? Which border worlds areas are you thinking? If you're going to be more aggressive in the Taus, for instance, does that upset the delicate diplomacy between IMG and the Bretonian government? How is it that QSM can be represented as the same corporate entity as BMM, yet QSM not be owned (or partially owned) by the crown and even "disowned" (disassociated) by the crown?
I've been out of it for a few months, so I may be speaking from ignorance on these. But I'd check to make sure, if I were you.
